ANYONE can go FD-ProAm Finals w/o qualifier

They finally put up the info I was telling you about.
Basically you can go DIRECTLY to the VIR event without qualifying but its a $1,000 entry fee (cheaper than gas to tx and back and entry fee there for most people).

If you goto TX and qualify, the VIR event is then $200 and you get it back when you arrive at VIR so its essentially free.

There is NO special requirment (i.e. a nopi license) in order to do the $1000 thing. Its a litte $$ but it gonna be 600+ gas +hotel +entry fee AND you still have to actually qualify at TX.

Its not gonna be best for everyone I guess, people sharing trailers will find it cheaper to go to TX first.

Maybe this won't help, maybe it will. I don't have the $$ either way ; ;

i dont think its really fair to be able to buy your way in. A rich kid that cant drift can get into the finals just cause he has money.

^^^But at the same time people who deserve to be there that can't afford to travel to Texas and qualify have an easier way in.

It kind of sucks that Nopi went under well I guess we all have Formula D to look foward too.:bigthumbu

Really doubtin the Texas event is even gonna happen. That hurricane is supposed to be almost right over that area Saturday night.

VIR Patriot course will sort out those who don't belong. Its HIGH 3rd and parts can be done in 4th if you have the extra power/trqe.

The REASON they did this was for the many FL/GA region drivers who got skipped for a REGIONAL event, and since it would be impossible to allow only that region a 'buy in', they allowing everyone. Its a very FAIR price I think. I mean, if you think you are the shit, $1000 is worth the try. If you just wanna act like you belong at the FD ProAm finals, you will waste your money.

Don't forget you still need gas to get there/hotel/prostitutes... shit is gonna be almost $2k total for trip if youre totally solo.

$1000 seems like a whole bunch of money. I like driving to events and spending it at gas pumps little by little. If TX gets cancelled maybe I can simulate driving to an event and make payments into a paypal account and eat gas station food and drink energy drinks.
It's funny because I would probably spend $1000 to go to the TX event and be kind of OK about it (the track looks f-ing sweet), but I really don't think that I could pay $1000 just for the invite.

would've rather had a FL/GA qualy myself too. Unless my car wasn't ready to race I'd rather do an event than just spend 1k. The cost might be about the same but like Lowe said, atleast you'd have another fun day at the track for it.

For those tha make it to finals....
**CAUTION**
VIR will make you not like moroso anymore haha.

A thousand fucking dollars??

For a Pro-am event??

I thought $280 or whatever was bad for D1 Drivers Search.

Is Slipstream really THAT hard up for money??

Seriously tailored that series for the Nick Hogan's of the sport.

there normally is NO BUY IN and you have to qualify. they are giving the option because of issues this year with schedules and events being cancelled. They are trying to simulate the COST of going to the qualifier event first.

The QUALIFIED drivers pay 250$ to register and when they arrive and check in, they get 100% refund on that $250.

NEW BUY IN PRICE
$$500$$

We've made a change to the non-qualified driver registration price due to some recent inquiries by potential drivers in other areas because of there only being one event in the Midwest and one in the South. Plus with Hurricane Ike causing the Texas event to get rescheduled on such short notice we have lowered the non-qualifier driver registration price to $500. Registration is still done the same way as before and all prices on the registration site have been adjusted accordingly. Hope this helps any drivers on the fence about entering.
