January 13th 2009 - Street-Wise Drift Announces its 2010 Formula Drift Pro AM Affiliate Series

Street-Wise Drift is proud to announce that we are now a Pro Am Affiliate series of Formula Drift and will be running 5 Pro AM events along side our already growing and popular amateur event series on the East Coast. We are looking forward to working with Formula Drift and its organizers in an effort to find the next Pro's of Drifting.

Qualified drivers finishing in the top three of the SWD Pro AM series of events will earn Formula Drift Pro Championship licenses for the 2011 season, while the top qualified placers in each SWD event will be automatically granted an invitation to the Pro-Am Nationals at the end of the season.

Much closer than most all XDC comps, save on travel costs

I'm sorry, but this logic = the stupidest thing ever.

how the fuck can one state have 4/5 events and claim to be looking for the next pro drivers? ok so can each state have its own series? Charlie was #1 after 2 events of FL Pro so he should have FD license too then.

XDC is a much more national and more costly thing but makes sense to award the top finishers a license. Regional series can get a ProAm Finals Invite which makes sense, but a full license is stupid IMO.

Seriously, lets hold 3 events at pbir, 1 at sebring, and 1 at cordele, and then award the top people FD license.

I'm glad FD is focusing on grassroots but flooding one or two states in the country gives a silly result to me.

GL to those who travel to NC 4 times this year.

This makes sense

Definitely gonna go to Road Atlanta, and maybe some of the ones after that?? Might be easier than driving all the way out to Pro-am finals.

my favorite track toss up is between Road Atlanta or VIR. elevation is so intense at both, videos do no justice. Atlanta is more challenging but VIR has more turns we could play on when i went.

Yeah I agree with you Jason I totally do, it really doesnt make sense but I still think that it would be dumb not to take advantage of it. Pretty much if you guys came up here I can see a florida sweep. There is not much real competition up here in NC. I go to the SWD comps and honestly most of you guys baring car problems would be competing with each other unless some of the guys from up north take a trip down.

its not stupidity..... it says UCF KNIGHTS ...... im in orlando and the UNIVERCITY of CENTRAL FLORIDA is known for there golden KNIGHTS, thought they where related, a simple clarification was suficient
