"bad" sale/transaction? opinions?

if you have ANY debate or input in this, please read all of this so your argument is accurate.

ok so i sold my coilovers to a local guy, and he's claiming bad sales. i tried working with him and finally told him to pound sand.

i listed my STANCE GR2+ PRO coilovers, i bought them under the assumption they were +PRO's i used them and sold them as +PRO's well today i found out and got a call from the buyer they are only +'s. MY BAD, i admitted the error on my part and told him i will completely refund his money. he then later asked instead for small compensation for the difference. i said no thats ok, the coilovers are worth what i sold them for so either keep them or refund. well it became more of a hassle trying to agree on trading, i had finally become frustrated with the matter and told him we can not come to agreement, i am refusing a refund due to the huge hassle.

i feel bad to an extent, i misled an item but it was done out of complete error.

he payed $800 for stance GR2+ coilovers with less then 2,000 miles on them, the coils are in amazing condition and 100% nothing wrong with them. I am refusing the refund because the product is not at fault and i did not sell a bad product and the hassle to make one person happy vs total inconvenience on putting my car on the stands.

i try to make everyone happy and i am a strait shooter, i only debate this because i do lots of forum sales and your name/rep is the only thing that makes a good sale.

You did sell a bad product because you sold something you didn't have whether you did it on purpose or not. Now it's really obvious the difference between the two coilovers so it should of been obvious to both of you what coilovers they were

You did offer him a refund so I can understand where you are coming from there is no reason to offer a partial refund for the difference in the coils since it is hard to agree on what the market vaule is for the difference

can someone answer this, other then the helper springs. what is the difference?

this is my point. regardless of + or +PRO's they are good coilovers.

i am not selling a bad set of coils, its over a petty detail and to me its not worth the hassle of trading back for something so minor.

The helper spring is the only difference

And yes they are both good coils but he payed for something he didnt get whether it's small difference or not but all you had to do was offer a full refund which you did so don't worry about it

the helper springs are the only difference like said, and you can always just get them from stance. when my friend bought his coilovers they sent him the helper springs not installed. and you tried to work with him so thats his problem

"If they weren't +PROs I'd still sell them at this price. You can refund them if you don't agree."

You bought them at a certain price thinking they were the correct product, as did he, and your assessment of value led to your price. You gave him an option to refund. He saw the product before purchasing, correct? I see no problem here. Just for the sake of customer service, however, I would maybe/probably refund a REALLY small portion of what he paid (maybe 10% dispute discount, lol)--but he did get a good deal.

I dont really see you as doing something wrong. You made a mistake, but you offered the dude a refund because it was your mistake. If he doesn't accept a refund then that is his problem. You did what you could to make it right.

no, i brought them to him.

he looked at them, he refused because i didn't have an invoice.

he called me like 5 minutes later, and said he will buy them if i sign a paper saying basically i didn't steal them.

they were on his car for like 3-4 days

so they were on his car for 4-5 day before he said they were the wrong coils? and he inspected them with his own eyes before any money was handed over? sounds like his fault for sure

yeah, he pulled them out of the trunk looked at them and checked rebound and all.

i guess he called stance today and they told him the difference and he called me and then this lol

Yea your not in the wrong. You offered a refund and he wouldnt accept it. He looked at them, inspected them AND had them on his car. His fault....

we tried to but he was being rude so i said fuck off.

if he wants to argue over helper springs, you need better things to occupy your time.
