Best Control, Suspension & weight ratio for 240SX s13,14or15 for drifting ???>???

right , right..

i know 1 guy that has done few red tops swap to the S13 and he also for the black tops as well. He told me, the black top is more stronger but there is always something wrong and for the red tops its real good & not many problems to deal.

I guess red tops you can still make 300HP and thats plenty of good power for drifting.

Unless if I use my spare 2.6liter turbo engine (4 cylinders), wiseco pistons .20 over with 7:1 compression ratio, T04b 60-1 hi fi .70 A/R turbo and external turbonetics wastegate with 25psi of boost, Using Stock crankshaft and rods, upgrade single cam, non jet valve head, mpi intake, using ford mustang 4.6liter applications 1996-02 65mm t-body, delphi 72lbs(750cc) fuel injectors with SDS 4F fuel management system, boost controller, turbo timer, fidanza aluminum flywheel, ACT stage 3 clutch, new magna 2nd gen bare head from Australia, Heavy Duty Schneider Spring valves, mechanical slip rocker cam, and hitting 93 octg. gas only, i will make around 350hp with 420lbs of torque, i can still make extra 40 ponnies (hp) if i do some porting job in my magna 2nd gen head from australia thats extra($300 bucks just for the porting job) it will be near 390hp with 460lbs. of torque total, thats my badass autox/street car out off my beat up car from only $700 just for the car worth and $6000 on parts install and everything, not bad for $7000 worth fast beat up car.

Oh i wish i can use my hatchback chrysler for drifting but i don't see it, its a rear wheel drive with 2dr. no problem but i guess my car is more for Go !! than drifting. I rather pick better the S13 240sx for my project drift car specially 1 beat up S13. I will have to do lots of reading and research for Sr20Det engine i love (4 cylinders) less problems to deal, otherwise i can get the mighty god RB26DETT Engine. No way Jose!!! I don't like 6 cylinders. No way the rb26 is a (6 cylinders 2.6liter) my chrysler engine is turbo with 4 cylinders 2.6liter, man i love 4 cylinders.

Three5oZee...open diff drifting is NOT drifting. (sorry off topic)[/QUOTE said:
There's alot of people here including me would disagree! I drifted for a long time with open. You dont have to spend money to drift. Some people dont have the money to buy a 350z or an lsd so they rock an open diff (no offense).

now on topic: there is a plethora of suspension and engine parts for every car in the world. You can make a "insert your car here" handle like a ferrari or better. There is no :"this car 'drifts' better than this other car."

The only reason to get an s13 is because they are cheap. S14 are the same car basically (same style suspension, basically same engine) but with an lsd. You're obviously not going to get an s15 and if you do spend the money ---you're probably not going to drift it, so what does it matter bringing it up. I'm going to make a thread called which drifts better the 2006 z06 or an s13.

The topic should be called which car looks better because they're all the same thing (except for minor differences)??

I had people asking me what LSD I had this last event and i'm open diff... you can drift with an open you just have to be careful with the throttle.

there are a lot of people here on open diff, dont ever say you cant drift an open diff. It takes more time to learn or get as good as someone with a diff but it still can be done. look at m4nfreds dd7 video, open diff.

s14 > s13. Weight shouldn't be an issue when you consider the advantages. Don't worry about weight distribution either, just tune your car to where you like it. 52/48, 51/49, 50/50, ect...you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. Get your car to work for you and be happy. Oh and your friend that has trouble drifting his s13, it's him not the car. NEVER blame the car. Every car has its limits of course but until the driver is maxing his car's capabilities out (which I'm sure your friend isn't doing), you don't blame the car.

Agreed, no, agree, no, and no. Any car cannot be made to handle like a Ferrari or better...almost no cars could be made to handle like a Ferrari. S14's and S13's are not the same and an LSD was not standard on all s14's.

D4 on the floor!

yeah I used to do pretty decent with my S12 open diff.... actually come to think of it I have never drifted anything or hell driven anything with a LSD of any type....

OK is there any difference between the S13 from 90 with the 91,92,93. it has to be something different besides the stock US engine, all S13 US made has the same suspension system and rear end.

Which S13 should be good to start for drifting from 91-93, 89-91. or is there any good year to have the S13 Coupe or Hatchback.

I have a friend that wants to sell me his 90 240sx coupe, man i wish it was hatchback for drifting.

its not a nearly as 50/50 as say an RX-7 but great balance. The S14 is a tad heavier and shares some high tech rear suspension from the Z32 and BCNR33. The S13 has been known to be a bit bit more nible as well.
