No such thing as an '86 325i... only 325e and 325.... both of which carry the 2.7 that revs to 4500.

It was an optional for the regular cars, but all sport models have them factory (except the 318iS... but thats a small case and you wouldnt want that anyways), old school 5 series and Z3s are also donors.

Now welcome to the wonderful world of gearing. In Nissans you guys have like 4.10 only.... yea... BMWs have 2.79, 2.93, 3.25, 3.46, 3.73, 3.91, 4.10, 4.27, 4.45

On a 5spd 325i you get a 3.73, on a 325e you'd get a 2.93. It all depends however on year and tranny.

cool im actually thinking of buying a s13 shell putting the sr in it and selling it for more im not sure its a good idea though....i think i just wanna buy the 325e u know what thats what im gonna do....just buy it right away thanks......ali almost convinced me to get another 240 but i think ima try BMW on for size ive already done 14 240's with very little gratification

Knowing your car longevity background, I'd say that 325e would last you 24hrs. A 325i... maybe a few months. :)

Whats wrong with the small case? Can the medium/large case diffs bolt up to a 318is?

Yup, they bolt right on. The small cases are ok for the 318iS... but if you plan on putting out more than 150whp (stock 120whp), you should start looking into an upgrade. For a 6 banger thats already shy of 150whp, you'd start running into problems with a small case right off the bat.

so why the fuck do you still have the 2.90?
