e30 m3 owns over any american s chassis all day long but a 325 e30 is another story (still a well balanced car tho)
<---coming from someone who has owned both and autox and roadcoarsed at homestead... stock for stock its way close around a track but no doubt in my mind till this day BMW has far better engineering and they are built way better...my e30 6 years older was quieter inside than my current s14...without rattles and such...
but again stock for stock from experience it comes down to driver (excluding the M3 e30) and im taking all out track events not from driving a city streets...
ill be saving up for the 1 series too......

so im deciding between a e30 or e36 leaning towards a e36 just because it will be my daily also but i keep finding allot of automatics and im not sure i want to go on the mission of finding the parts so im gonna see whats up......i really like the e30 but i got to make up my mind it will most likly be a 2 dr e36

to be honest i ended up with an e30 just 'cuase i didnt want a 240...hate that everybody has one...didnt want a miata (kinda girly and inpractical), all other cars were too big, too heavy or too ugly and the e36 was over my budgeted 1300. so e30 was the best choice but damn, i hit the jackpot. i'm on my second one.

you could always swap an sr into the e30!
or just turbo the m20 in a 325.

just get an S52 engine get intake/exhaust/tune and your there
What if I take the S14 2.3 engine and put it in an S14 chassis, and then get a M30 3.5 I6 into an Infiniti M30?
Anyway, taking it back to page1; personally I think a Stock S14 240SX SE handles better than any stock E30 except the M3, and 318is, DOHC. Now just imagine if Nissan had given us the real S14's..... also remember almost any E30 you will find is much older than any S14 you find, so they are very hard to compare...
