Brake/Stop light switch problem

I got a 93 hatch and ever since ive had it ive had this problem. The first time I noticed my taillights werent brightening up when I stepped on the brakes I checked the fuses n the switch itself n it turned out to be the switch, I replaced it n it worked fine, the second time it happened it turned out to be the lil plastic piece on the pedal that usually breaks, I glued a penny in its placed n it worked perfectly, just recently I noticed they werent lighting up anymore but ive checked the switch, the fuses and the penny but everything seems fine. I have no other ideas on what could be causing it, ANY HELP is greatly appreciated, I dont wanna get pulled over n get arrested for driving w/o a license !!
Im sure somebody's had this problem n maybe might wanna help me out ??
Thank you in advance :bigthumbu

ive had the same problem, replaced everything, and everything works fine.. check the bulbs they might be blown? or maybe the switch is stuck

...get a license - problem solved

Check the bulbs. They are dual filament maybe the 2nd filament is burnt?

Okay well idk shit when it comes to electrical so ill just wait for a buddy of mine with the right tools and knowledge. What I dont get is why does it work for about a month before it goes out again??

Possibly a wire or something touching causing a short? loose plugs? bad connections? could be a host of different things/scenerios
