breaking bolts Ka24de

so i was in the middle of pieceing together my ka, and the bolt that hold the tesioner up, broke :( here are some pix:

i need to find a way to get this out without having to re-tap the hole, any suggestions please lmk im bout to go crazy cuz im out of cash, so i cant buy another block....

i decided to take a bigger chance, grow some balls and become amazing, here is my result

ok now heres my question, after breaking this bolt, and goin through all this trouble, i decided to try all my bolts first on my other block ( garbage block), that way i dont fuck up my block... but every time, i tighten the bolt for the tensioner on the block, all the bolts break.... 4 of them broke already, no do u guys think this might be jsut cuz the bolts are old, or are the bolts not supposed to be on that tight?

no like i didnt put it in that hard, it never really got tight...... :( but its wierd how 4 of them broke, like i can understand one of them but all 4!

but anyways ive come to the conclusion that theses bolts were just garbage, so unless anyone has had this same problem with brand new bolts..... lock???

i dont think is your bolts i think its there being tightened to much cause really bolts dont get shitty unless there tightened and have been stretched
you only need to hand tight thats it just snug it put some rtv on the threads to keep them from backing out
 
what size socket wrench are you using you should be using the 3/8's and you should be able to feel when you stretching the bolt inside. If you ripped the head clean off the bolt you've gone way too fucking far. use a smaller ratchet and that should resolve your issues or torque them to spec with a torque wrench... shiiiiiiit.
 
like i said, they never got tight, so another question, idk who told me this but someone told me yesterday to just hand tighten them and not worry bout it cuz their not supposed to get that tight anyways, to me that doesnt sound safe at all, speccially cuz my timing chain scares the fuck out of me, but wat u guys think? u think thats good enough? and i havent been able to find anything on the fsm! if anyone knows the torque specs lmk

yeah whoever told you that is stupid thats like me hand tightened my head studs
you dont need to torque them if you have a torque wrench those bolts down to 8 pounds the same as the cam bracket bolt
put some rtv on the threads so they dont back out and torque them to 8 pounds end of story
