Cam question

I just had my head rebuilt for my s14 sr, im about to put it back together but i figured since i have a few extra bucks i wanna throw some cams in while im going back together... does anyone have info about what size cams to go with without having to modify anything else... i was trying to keep everything else how it is for now and just gain a few extra hp. thanks for your help
 
What stage cams are you trying to get? Stage1-2 you can just drop in stage 3 you need springs and retainers.
 
Thats what im trying to figure out... can I go with the 264(stage 2) without changing the springs and retainers? or just stick to the 256( stage 1). Will I even gain a noticable amount of power?
 
Stage1-3 the turbo on top will die out the cam will eat it alive!! Are you planning on upgrading the turbo soon? If soo what size?
 
Dont waste your time if you're not upgrading springs and retainers.

If you are, and you plan on sticking w/ the t28, tomei 270's are where its at.
 
from what u guys are saying its not worth it unless im doing other things so i guess i will just wait til i have the money to do other stuff....thankss for ur help
