Canon non SLRs Suck!

The Casio you are looking at is a nice Point and Shoot. But nothing more. If you want a good point and shoot get a Panasonic. If you want a dSLR get a Rebel XT.

aight ima go with the casio cuz i wasnt plannin on getting an slr until a couple more months

Why not save up now? $300 is almost there. Especially the new Nikon D40.

D40

Freaking Awesome Entry Level Camera. Nice sized Senor too. Compact for a dSLR.

If you just want a point and shoot. Do yourself a flavor(I know I wrote flavor) and get a Casio Exlim, Small Panasonic, Small Kodak. The way you have a pocket sized good picture cam that you take around and not be a bother.

I bought a s2 is. I love it but I crave more. I am regretting buying it and not saving a few months for a XTi.

Not everyone is ready to pay for dslr lens prices. I'm not sure on everyone's finacial status but these things break the bank. I always stress that. Look at some good L glass. The cheapest new is the 70-200 f4L coming in at almost $600 depending on where you shop online. The next isn't even under $1000. I mean sure you can get away with the pro-sumer stuff but once you get the low f-stop lenses or shoot with L glass your hooked.

I'd say if your having trouble saving to get an xt stick with a high end p&s that you won't have to drop big bucks into.

Goto www.bhphotovideo.com and look at some of the prices on lenses.

I agree with the last post. Sure you can buy a used XT for about $400 but its not going to come with any lenses, or maybe the kit lens which sucks. For most users, a nice point and shoot is plenty and is more versatile than a DSLR with a cheap lens. I have lenses that cost way more than my camera body cost.

Thanks Digital.

Owning a Dslr is very expensive and I always hate to see someone buying new equipment and then posting up a few months later FS (whatever camera) I hardly used this camera so I'm selling it.

I'd stay away from the d40 due to the fact that you lose AF unless you use certain lenses. Even some of the Nikon lenses won't AF on that camera. Kinda a step backwards for entry level dslr's. AF is your friend.

I'd look into the Canon s3 is though. Its a great camera with the manual functions you'd be looking for in a dslr and also a nice range and IS (image stabilization) for those long distance shots. b&h has is for $356 with 1gig card, soft case, 16mb card (comes with camera) & 4 AA's.

Me personally I don't like Kodak camera's. I didn't like the build quality on them nor the lack of control. What made you go with the kodak?

10x optical zoom with 7.1 MP and the rest of the cameras there were 4x optical 8 MP and i couldnt afford the cannon rebel
