thats one of the blandest track setup's i've ever seen used for a drift event. But still looks like fun maybe i'll pre-register when i get up there for the Rally USA thing.
 
As I said in the first post, that is NOT the course.
It is a old pic when we were throwing out ideas a long time ago.
Now my photobucket is broke and I can't modify it.
I removed the pic to get rid of the confusion.
We will just watch the vid now!

There will be no stopping on the track, just a few laps then pull off.

Yes, it looks bland from a sky view, I thought so too.
But it was much more interesting in person!

most of the video looked like a manji + U-turn set up, then it looked like you were out on part of the road course.

Will this be limited to the wide section of track that was the old runway? or will it incorporate the entire or part of the road course?
 
most likely gonna go anyone live in the daytona area that wanna ride there . me and 2 buddies most likely going , itll be my first event i street drift but events look so much more fun.
 
Damn, I wanna go but I'm working the burnout box for Gatornationals this year. I'm really considering seeing if I can get off that Sunday to go drifting. It looks like a lot of fun, but this is also my first Gatornationals. So I guess I have a dilemna. Gvilleracer, you used to work at Gainesville Raceway yourself, didnt you?

There are a bunch of reasons.

1. we needed one more qulifier for the FDC sereis and this weekend worked best; but, we wanted it to be closer to ATL for a change.

So, we canceled here and scheduled Cordele! It was time to show appreciation for the GA peeps coming down to us all the time!


2. Last but not least.... few people registered.....So, I doubt this event will be missed by many!

Yes I worked for Don for 2 years and learned a lot, pick his brain every chance you get! BTW did you get to watch the last event?
 
damn, events dropping like flies.... we need to space out events better as a community cuz we are splitting attendance. gonna end up losing tracks soon when they feel its not worth it.
 
lol I participated in the last event with the stock red 240sx with coilovers, and my very last qualifying run, I actually made it through the course without spinning or straightening out. Don said to me afterwards, "Good job Alex, I thought we were gonna have to classify you as a Class 4 Untrainable." I love picking Don's brain, he's a brilliant driver and doesn't mind teaching those who ask.

We welded the diff, but the welds werent really done right, so I was running on an open diff for the whole day. But I got a lot of plans for that car and I'm working on it almost every day at the shop I work at.
