Hey, I just bought my S14 at a place called Greenfield Auto...they a buy here - pay here place and well frankly im a bit worried now, I don't really have the BEST knowledge of cars but I took my car for a test drive and it seemed fine. The clutch was nice and clean; no grinding as far as I know it wasn't loose. The engine looked good from what I could tell...no knocking or anything like that. when he turned it on it turned right on...no struggling. but you know when you go and test drive a car they never let you rip it out so I didn't get to see the full potential of the gears...the interior was fair for a 95...but that i could care less about because I can replace plastic. but I could see that they spiffed and cleaned the engine to make it shiny "0o0o0" lmao it came with an injen cold air intake. Later on that night I asked a friend and he told me that I SHOULD have looked under the car for rust and stuff...DAMNIT I didn't do that..well im now locked into the car because Im financing it for a crazy price...(too embarrassed to say) but I WANTED a 240 and for the most part...im extremely happy!!
I just hope that I got what I wanted BUT without all the devils advocate shit like: hopefully the car doesn't fall apart 2 months after I get it....honestly if the engine and innards are kinda fucked up that's OK because I can replace that stuff. im just hoping that the car's chassis is in-tact. I completely forgot to get a carfax...EPIC FAIL! on my part...but tell me what you guys think and what I should look out for when I go pickup my car next Wednesday...sorry for writing a friggin story

Greenfield auto's 240's are expensive as shit.
You find the same crap on craigslist in as good or better conditions for atleast a grand cheaper.
 
how many miles are on it? how many owners? body damage? title type? overall body condition? any signs of leaks?
 
sounds like a classic case of being inexperienced with buying cars and getting over excited over your first "sports" car. basic rule of thumb: never get excited for anything. lol. hopefully its all good. have a mechanic friend give it a good look over if you have one.

Greenfield is known for getting cars at auction and fixing them up and then selling then for a huge profit...just saying.

there was NO body damage whatsoever, and its a rebuilt title because they stated that it had been in a fender bender and the front right was hit...however I saw pictures from before they fixed it and it didnt look like it had been in too bad of an accident like somebody had kinda hit the right side of the car not a direct collision..overall body condidion is excellent no sign of leakage that I saw and when I drove it clutch was NOT at all worn....gears were fine...also, im not sure if this is a good indicator but you know when you drive over 20mph "i believe" if the gearbox is still quite in tact then the lock on first gear engages so you cant down shift into 1st...that still worked fine however im not in any way an expert so....thx alot for all your help fellas

so basically the car was in-tact...just that ding on the side...thoughts anyone?
 
thoughts are you got raped!!! i bet they paid less than 500 for this thing!!!! you can but a 06 350z in perfect body condition and then but another one thats totaled with a perfect working motor, put them together and have a perfect running z for less than what you paid for ur one s14!!!! lawls

GL tho! Swap a v8 in it! WOOOOOOOOO
 
Rebuilt isn't worth 4k. Coulda gotten it for 2500. And its 4 lug, well the damage is already done and its urs so if I were u don't ever sell it cuz u won't get ur money back

I know I got raped on this...the reason is I just wanted a 240 and I didnt have 3 or 4k to drop I barley had 1800 for a down payment and for this I guess I had to pay the price for financing...if i had a legit 4k to drop theres no way I would turn to a buy here pay here place....but I just want to know if the car looks good as far as condition wise. yeah it sucks I got stiffed for like 1.5 - 2k but hey....its worth it to me to FINALLY have the car I want...plus is MIIIINE and nobody elses haha but still thank you for your help guys
 
That's cool man it sucks That it happened like that but w/e, money comes n goes.

you got the car...be happy..welcome to the 240 world

and just know now that everyone will always tell you that your car can be better, ie engine swap to a sr, ewww srs suck go v8, screw v8s, i6 2jz or go home, etc etc....its your car not theirs so if you got what you want then fuck everyone else.

another forewarning, pay off the place and get the title before you put any money into this thing...
