my sisters car wont start at all. we tried giving it a jump and nothing turns on, not even the little clock. but what is weird is that the brake lights seem to work when u step on the brakes. the car managed to turn on only the electrical stuff one time.im thinking it could be the alternator but im not quite sure yet...but it didnt have enough power to crank the engine and from that moment on, when u would turn the key to crank the engine, the car would make that weird clicking noise and nothing else would happen. does anyone kno wut this could be:confused:

btw her car is a 00' honda accord. plz help her out

the clicking would make me think bad battery connection, I would think starter also but you said the accessories dont work. Does the clock reset when you try to turn it?

im thinking its the battery too but she says the battery isnt even 2 years old. as for a relay....i gotta look into that

i blew my starter realy in my 240 the other day i took it out and jumped it with a paper clip and it started right up but before that i got absolutely nothing kinda like your describing.

everything is connected perfectly. i mean the battery had acid on the terminals but i cleaned that up and reconnected the battery back up correctly. but it still had no effect

battery is probably dead and wont maintian charge.. try putting ur battery in it.. or one from any other car..
remember, she barley drives its...

If the battery is bad, then even jumping it wont do anything at times, because it wont even hold a charge long enough to turn on the lights.

Get the battery tested, determine if it needs to be replaced. Once you have replaced/fixed the battery, if the problem continues, then it is a bad electrical connection or blown fuse/relay. Also check your ground cables, loose grounds can cause problems too...

UPDATE: problem solved. it turns out a fused got fried during the jump but after replacing it and jump starting it. it works just fine. thanx for the help ppl:bigthumbu

Check if the battery is good if not its the starter or starter relay if not that then begin the process of elimination to find the problem
