So i finaly got my car off the jack stands and started and now it wount go into gear. car started off with 5 spd but i bought a motor that had an auto tranny. bolted the motor to my 5spd tranny, put the motor in now when the car is on it just doesnt want to go in gear. when car off goes in gear fine. any clues as to what i should check? please any ideas are welcome.

Are you sure your throwout bearing isnt jammed? Is your slave working properly? There's alot of things, are you sure you knew what you we're doing?

im kinda worried about my throw out bearing, my uncle messed with it a bit and i didnt chekc when i put it back. he sais he didnt remove anything or w/e. how would i know? looks like the slave pushes the throw out bearing and stuff. arght i dont want to drop the trany. so many hours and pain and i finaly got it all together. any more ideas?

could just be the little clip isnt snapped in right on the push fork .. stupid question but you did put the clutch disk in the right way? flywheel on new motor? use an alignment tool? if the slave is workingand extending all the way then it somthing inside the belhousing (clutch, flywhl, fork etc)or the tranny it self, which its likely not cause it obviously worked when you took it out right? shifter inserted properly?it wont go in if its sitting in there halfassed. GL.

check if the slave is working start from there...like push the clutch with ur foot and have someone look at the slave to see if it moves

hey guys, thx for the replies. i assume the tranny was working properly since i bought it with effed up motor. the slave moves not alot bout 3/4 probably almost same as my cuzins coupe. now this means the slave is good. now i used an alignment tool and torque tightened the flywheel bolts. clutch went in the right way i assume. now what im guessing is that i had to replace the pilot bearing from my manual motor right?
