finally finishing 1st term of skool and getting out of work i decide to go find out wtf is wrong with my car cuz the check engine light has NEVER turned off since i got my exhaust done. my friend has an S13 like mine but coupe (same year and same mods) but he doesnt have this problem. i go to advance auto parts and they tell me they can only check 96 and up. same thing was told to me by the people in pep boys and autozone. Im told by all employees that i need to take it to a shop to check it out and not one of them knows of one. pathetic. doesn anyone know of a shop located in the kendall area that can find out why the check engine light never turns off??????? please this shit is getting me pissed off already:mad::rant:

if nothing is broken then dont worry
but try nissan they gotta be able to scan it for u or fine someone with a obd1 scanner i think thos work for older cars not sure tho

The auto shops can only scan OBDII type vehcles. They do not offer any type of trouble shooting or diagnosis for OBDI type cars. This is because OBDII has one universal diagnosis plug for the scanner and OBDI has a different diagnosis plug for different makes, different models, and different years. You are better off getting on google and locating the trouble code list, and learning the DIY on engine diagnosis for your car.

hey disconect your neg batt cable for about a min and plug it back in if it turns on it might be the o2 sensor or could be the whatumacallit intake thingy that word slips my mind now and day...hmmm.. well if u have one

look for the fsm i think theres a way to trouble shoot that shit on ther, im not sure so dont quote me on that one

FSM? and i cant be the O2 sensor i bought a brand new one from Bosch after i bought the car

i put in a new O2 sensor when this happpened the 1st time and it went away......for a while and then it came back up. my friend told me it was my MAF and ive been through 3 of them so im ruling out that possibility. other times the check engine light would disapear when i was going at high, steady speeds (like driving on a highway or late at night with no traffic)

i need a big ass wrench to do that and i dont have one (that sounded so wrong lol)
