coil sleeves

so my buddy told me that if I have drop my car on sleeves that I wouldnt be able to get a full alignment. That id need to get a camber kit. Is this true? Cuz i really dont think it is.

correct, if you slam the shit out of the car your suspension will naturally camber itself, this is why ppl buy ruca
they will correct the camber

if you dont get the camber kit, you will have camber lol, you will wear through the insides of your tires faster, but it doesnt really affect anything else

i will effect handling to a degree, ie less grip, but unless you are a race car driver you probably wont notice a difference. also your tire life will be shortened, because instead of using up the full width evenly once you wear down the tread on the inside the outside is wasted.

alright thanks man i appreciate it

cambers the shit. keep it, get the camber kit so you can get more neg camber not less. even camber is for people wanting to go in a straight line, neg camber improves traction around corners, look at an f1 car, or just look at the back of a stock bmw, s2000, nsx...

^there is such a thing as too much neg camber no? and yes a little bit of negative camber is best for grip because when you get body roll around the corner it evens out flat with the road.

dude, he is screwing with you. some may say it looks cool, and it does help tuck those wide wheels, but camber sucks when you wear through tires in half the time and the outside of your tire is brand new while the inside is through the metal. do it right and eliminate as much camber as possible
and gtfo with your body roll crap lol, i get NONE!!!!

Hey, camber doesn't cause excessive tire wear. It causes uneven tire wear.

TOE causes excessive tire wear.

To the OP: if you're slamming your car and you are concerned w/ your alignment, camber and toe correction will be required. And rear upper control arms will only work...in the rear, so you'll need either camber bolts (which won't correct enough depending on the level of slamming and how much camber you want/don't want) or some camber plates.

Your friend is probably making blanket assumptions based on the fact that most "coilovers" come w/ camber adjustable plates on the fronts.

i wasn't joking, at all. my lexus has neg camber stock, are we gonna argue with toyota? lowered it and the camber is sick, but when i drift i need it, if you are worried about spending money an tires, why are you on a drifting site? too much neg camber does exist, but we're talking about 5 degrees and up. you're not going to get from putting coil sleeves on stock shocks. oh and x2 what tonymac said. get an alignment, don't worry about the camber.

ya, but if only half your tire is on the ground, guess what, its gonna wear faster. i have camber and i dont give two shits about tires, i pay nothing for them, just letting you know. a little camber is ok, but only a little

yes, negative camber does make your tires wear faster, a lil bit of negative camber is ok but u should definately be prepared to go through tires faster, but welcome to the world of drifting
