Its been 4 days since I got in on my lip and I bought Abreve but it doesn't seem to be working:mad:

Any suggestions?

I hate this thing with a passion

cold sores are indeed HSV, but its HSV1 oral, and HSV2 is genital herpes. Remember that it can spread to OTHER parts of the body.
There are medicated lipbalms like HerpicinL if not, see a doctor and he might be able to give you something stronger?

Had to edit I read something you wrote, as far as I remember from microbiology in school, HSV1 isn't an std its passed from mother to child when its born. I could be mistaken.
 
I get them when I travel. They suck so bad but Abreva or Carmex usually does the trick for me.

Try Carmex.
