so i did my compression test today..not too happy

3. 186
4.180

did them twice this is about what they were..
hopefully its a simple fix cus i was planning on boosting within a couple weeks

what kinda compression tester are you using
cause 190 is high ka stock compression is 170 -180
and i dont know how it could go higher only seen them drop
what year more info on the motor

95 or 97 dohc ka..and the tester is a matco tools tester. pretty legit tester. i took the spark plug wires out along with the fuel pump fuse. sucks cus i really wanted to boost it and the car runs so well i thought it would be ok

yeah somethings not rite i would use another tester just to make sure sometime the best tools screw up to
and those number are really high for a 15 year old motor
considering stock number are around 175
usually there around the 155-165

i would pick up another ka do a mild build on it pistons headgasket and arp studs stock ka rods are good unless you want super high psi then i would just replace it all rebuild the head if needed (i would ) start all new get your manifold turbo ect injectors tune get it all built on the stand and just swap it over and have a nice boosted ka and then have a spare motor just in case cause it is a ka after all
time and patience is key for a good build do it right the first time

sucks to hear bro. im going KA-T too and mine was 150 across the board = )
but as S14FBS said get another and buildddd

are you sure your injectors arent leaking and the fuel was completely out of the system
do it again , this time disconect each injector , try and start it, it shouldnt even make one explosion, then disconect the distributor , take spark plugs out and do your test with the engine warm
i had a ka that had 180 + on all 4, it was awsome , never knew why though, tore it apart and stuffed some expensive goodies in there

my compression numbers varyy between 137psi and 183 so dont be so down lol but yea im in the process of taking it out rite now to rebuild it

i had 135-155 and i boosted motor ran perfect till i blew my e-fan fuse and it over heated. But those numbers you have there is good for some boost i wouldnt boost it to 15lb or nothing but a good 7-8lbs is straight

usally 155 lower is a rebuild for boost or if the cylinders are such different

but if your cylinders are the same across the board then you can get away with it

but i would just boost a whole other motor so then there less down time and less pressure to get it done cause im guessing it is your dd

15-20lb difference is normal most of the time, but you also have to remember to test it when its warm to get a proper reading. or put a drop or 2 of oil in each cylinder.

15-20 would still concern me
i would like to stay around 5-10 b but thats my personal preference when it comes to ka

ok so i went back and did as mendoza said to do first unplugged the injectors, try'd starting the engine making sure all the gas was out, then took out the fuel pump fuse, then disconnected the distributer cap wires, took the spark plugs out and went for round 2.

this time i got about

1.160
2.180
3.180
4.175

so basically im back to square one trying to decide if i should just say fuck the ka and get an sr or get another ka, mildly build it, then boost that shit.

sucks ass

fuck i knew i was forgetting something. the first time i did not the second time! would it make a big difference?

damn i feel like a fuck tard now
