Ok, its official... I am getting a Red 90' 240SX. Yes, manual. :D Almost immaculate. A couple little points of intrest, but for 2140, I cant complain... This comes in 2wks! Let the count down begin!

Edit- More info...

My best freinds dad is BillShultz. (Owns Chevy dealership.) I told him what I was looking for, he made a few phone calls, and wham-o. He finds the beast! It is at an auction for dealers, and they are shipping it. He will have it in about 1 week, and I will have it available to me at that time. Financially, I will have enough money in 2wks. I are teh happyness. :D :p

Congrats..

Red is a rare color for S13 240SXs.. How many miles are on the car? Is it a hatchback or a coupe? $2140 seems a little pricey for a SOHC 240SX no matter how clean it is. What plans do you have for it? I would suggest Suspension, Steering Wheel, Brakes, VLSD and then start to worry about horsepower mods later. Goodluck

Red is a rare color? what are you talking about?! all 3 240's ive had have been red! And i agree with alchemist... $2140's a little pricey... My 93 was $1950 and it was semi-imaculate.

i hope your not confusing red with maroon.

i dont want to hear a rebuttle aginst this statement !!! first car? learn how to drive.

good luck

I think Uras and Alex were the only 2 real red S13's here J/K I know theres more. But most are maroon and darker shades of red. But not the lipstick red (ferrari red OOOOOOO ****!) we are talking about. Congrats BTW but I hope thats one clean S13 for that price and you said it was at an auction something doesn't add up.

ekk, i thought i got robbed for being clean, well see whos clean, and who, is not

wtf i can show you pics from the meets up here at least 16-20 s13s and maybe only 2 of them are not red (not maroon...red) but thats a bit pricey for me...gluck with the car.

Oh No... I originally had a 95' Escort LX, manual. My first rice... Traded for cash! :D

$2145 too high? I will try to get him down to $1800. I have... what you might call, the ability to persuade... :) Learned from my father. He owned a Mitsubishi Dealership from 1999-2003. He lost great sum of money in those years, though.

BTW... I know how to drive... :p

Oh, and... 12days left!1!!!!!1! Woot!!

It may be maroon... It is a darker shade of red.

As to what I plan to do... I first and foremost want to fix any and all problems with it. (If Any.) After that, I plan to get an LSD, and then one of those...tie rods?? I cant seem to remember the name. It allows you to turn your tires at greater angles. From there, I need to decide whether to put money into it looking nice, or money into more performance items. I don't want a rice cannon muffler, I would rather have a low, deep sound. ( Like Kouki. )

BTW - I got to see it today. It smoked when I started it, which to me indicates a bad headgasket or maybe oil in the muffler.... It was a light white smoke though, so idk untill I get my freind to look at it. Any possibilities? The exterior, was a darker red, as I said earlier. I dont really know +/or care whether its Maroon or Red. Its all Red to me... :D Everything worked nice... Engine revved nice, good sound... I couple tears in the seats, but Nothing a couple seat covers or a stitch wouldn't fix... One thing is weird though. The E-Brake ... was kinda crooked? I dont know if this is the way it is supposed to be on the 240's or not. It was slanted towards the driver's side. BTW, the clutch was ALL there. Felt good! Had the perfect resistence; not too mushy, not too hard. It is a hatchback, which I like. It has a couple of minor scratches here and there, but nothing too bad. One thing I forgot to check was the headlights... It is bugging me now. I dont know if they flip up and work or not, as I didnt check. (Noob! *sigh) Also, as I am 6'2, I enjoyed the headroom! It has a lower seat placement than the Escort did. I was rubbin my head on the moonroof in the Escort, and I dont even come close in the 240. Oh, that is another thing. The 240 has a moonroof, but it is a manual hatch one. It has a little ruse on the side plates, but I checked the moonroof for leaks, and it had none. I guess the previous owner had left it out in the rain one night with the moonroof open. >.<

First off I'm just giving you some insight so don't take it as a flame. O.K. that is a SOHC 240sx which is already overpriced at $2145. Add to that it smokes so that should already be under $1550. The paint isn't great it has scratches, Don't worry about the seats every S13 has a torn driver-side seat.

The e-brake is supposed to be slightly slanted toward the driver so don't worry. Before you buy it check it out for electrical probs like the turn signals, tailights, headlights, dash. In the day you won't see these probs. Believe it's very common to buy an S13 with shorts in the electrical system.
And let it run for more than 20 minutes, they like to run hot also.
Good luck . Believe me I've been through 3 myself and all had these problems.
And my close friends have had a few and 3 out of 4 of them had electrical issues. So beware. Later.
