D1GP USA Lays Down the Law - Team Orange Fined $17,500

GOOD! They fucking deserve their punishment. They are ruining D1GP and the entire sport of drifting. I am just surprised that these Japs are the same people I have been looking up to since I learned about drifting.

As for Will, I am sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he is alright.

no offense to anyone but these guys actions cannot be a determining factor in your career/decisions. if jeff gordon punched a NASCAR official, and got mega-fined, i doubt that Dale Jr. would quit NASCAR.

they acted like asses and got checked by D1. this should make D1 MORE credible in its decision to stand up to any/everyone.

damn....i think my mind is going back to being a grassroots driver vs trying to compete professionally. To much bullshit out there now! I think im going to build my car for me, not for sponsors or anybody else but for my enjoyment!

ya man. grassroots is where its at...too many of the 'professional' drivers are just bitchy lil girls.

agreed, but money is the root of all evil, and alot of the drivers are out for the prize money, to me when your drifting for a living, puts too much emphasis on winning, would take the enjoyment out of it for me, but to each their own. and yes, +1 for d1 on this move.

that is what i call a rational thought..

gold star for you

Tanaka honestly probably should've won though. Also, I like how in the statement it talks about how they shouldn't expect special treatment etc, but aren't they getting paid to show up and drive the events win or lose? That's pretty special treatment if you ask me. D1 seriously needs to just quit. Formula D needs to keep on keepin' on.

this is gay, where the hell is drifting going to here in the US of fucken A!

wheres the love and passion for the sport?

More than once I've heard you complain about your scores in a competition, and after we watched the footage at your house, sometimes the run you made wasn't as good as you thought.

I think Tanaka and team Orange are full of heart. So much that Tanaka made a fool of himself just to protest one run, and Kawabata still stood by him.

Really though, how calm and collected would anyone be after such amazing driving to just be told you lose turn around, when you truly believe you drove better, or atleast deserved one more time.

D1 should stay, but if the judging is going to get any better, we need HD slomo cameras on the track. After each set of chase follow, watch the tapes and decide a winner.

well the fact that NO prize money its big, 3-5k is NOT a lot of money for pro racing, I don't think its that. Ego/pride yes.

either way, like JLo said, I dont think they are paying for themselves to run these events anyways. But, it wouldn't be D1 without them either. Its not the best solution right now, but you cant expect people to pay much to watch grassroots vs grassroots.

Hell, I just moved up a spot cuz he lost all his points^^ woo

why don't they think this out the smart way....D1GP in Japan is for all the big sponsored corp. dogs! But they provide a D1SL for all the good drivers that love the scene but do not want to get involved with corp companies just like Yokohoma's series with MSC....

Why not bring or start something here, they don't have to bring over the Japs, they just find america's talent in a amateur drifting series around the country, similar to FD Pro-Am

because there is no talent in America for anything other than breeding fat ugly lazy people!! oh and super awesome rap music.

we should have an ametour drifting series for Florida! and like have D1SL be a part of it.

I'll call Harri and set something up.

My love and passion for the sport is what drives me to be involved in it in any way possible. Driving or working the events. Stupid actions like these are caused by people being selfish and only thinking of themselves. I gave up 2 days of work to go work that event and my dedication to the sport was rewarded with a childish hissy-fit. Some people just need to get off their pedestals... btw... the course worker assaulted by the mechanic.... was my dad whom most of you know.

Yeah! That's an awesome idea! Then we can BEG people to show up, and have like 13 drivers per event!

I bet if you didnt require any cages or safety suits that you would get triple the amount of drivers lol (entry fees gotta be cheap too!) most people just want to go drift and have fun, not be competitive, the few that are competitive are the only ones that show up as is now lol

just make sure they sign the waiver saying if they crash or explode they cant sue the track owners or event holders

:bigthumbu:bigthumbu:laugh:

ya! an then lets have a porn company that doesnt require any std testing but the 'actors' sign a release saying its ok if their dick falls off/turns green!!! sounds like a plan!

sign up now!!

www.drift-for-herpes.com << no cage or suit required for this event!
