can anyone tell me y da hell my digital speedo wont light up? i got it of an 89 coupe, so i switched the tach and it works but the speedo wont light up. any one no wut it is?

it's broken or you didnt take the whole harness... most likely it's broken, very common problem with the HUD units now a days

i did swap the harness out but i heard somewhere that there was sum lil fuse type thing that i could get for it , but then again the kid who told me that was a dousch bag

well, i wouldnt recommend trying to fix it. (an electronic shop will charge too much. something about the ribbon circuit boards being very hard to repair)

so i would suggest to just change it out...hit up U-pull it or whatever and swap it out with an analog HU.

you need to make SURE you get one from the same motor year as your car.
IE: if you have an 89-90 (sohc) pull the cluster from the same motor year.
91-94 (dohc) from that year.

then you'll still need to swap the tach. and the entire wiring harness behind the dash.
its attached by three clips i think, the last middle one is a PITA to get out, but once you do, its all just plug and play.

last time i got a cluster from Upull it they charged me about 20 bucks for it. quick easy fix to know your speed. especially since almost ALL hud's dont work.

Did You Try Pushing Down On The Mph/kmph Thats What Turns The Hud On And Off.

He is right sometimes my friend would be like hey the HeadsUpDisplay doesn't work, and I'd be like ONVYFCB UVVUHBYGTV&YBUBV&BGV Dumbass the button hit the button.

it DOES NOT matter if you get the HUD from a SOHC or DOHC.. it all plugs in the same, but you do have to swap the RPM Tach to the DOHC or SOHC to read your revs correctly and need the HUD guage cluster harness

sorry. my explanation came across wrong. of course i meant just get the analog cluster from the dohc or sohc, the actual 'Heads Up Display' is universal - but wont work with the analog custer. basically its just a fix to have MPH without having to wire up a speedo, or pay out the butt for a repaired/refurb digi cluster.

(btw. your HUD is probably not broken, its the ribbon circuit board on the back of the digi clusters that usually burn out, when i replaced mine the first time, the HUD was fine, the cluster was bad)
