DONT PUMP GAS ON MARCH 31st!!

Gas prices will go down for a day and then the next day go up again.
 
This never works. It's different than everyone flush your toilet at the same time.
The whole idea needs to be thought out better.
 
Gas prices are INELASTIC meaning that the demand curve will not be affected due to the lack of demand for one day. Their not stupid, that is, they realize that SOMEDAY we are going to get gas. Whoever came up with this is a dipshit.

But the fact is the demand is not gonna go down if even if a couple million people dont pump gas on the 31st because those same people will either fill up on the 30th or pump extra gas on the first. Our gas prices in the states are among the lowest in the world as it is. Europe has an average of about 3 euros a litre!!

Gas prices are not gonna be effected by this little stunt.

thats europe, but in most of central and south america countries gas is VEEEERY cheap .. you can fill up a Tahoe with about $3 USD... why? cuz they use THEIR own oil... the US has enought oil to provide to the states for over 150 years... and that ONLY in the state of texas... i think its VERY upseting that gas is at $4/G and still climing... they have it predicted that by the end of this sumer gas will be at $4.80!!!!how stupid is that?|!?!?!?!

the business part about reserving our own oil i know... its suply and demand... which its still BS because we are in one of the worst economys there is right now... we are up there with out of the countries that has more debt in the world... http://www.usdebtclock.org/ even Brazil has a better economy than us...
Also not to mention that well over 50% of the products we buy are from another country... that puts a huge hole in our economy.

politics: i hate them all and i will always hate them... the only thing they do is think how can THEY make more money, not how can the country make more money and stablish a good stable economy...

i just dont get wat does American history has to do with the problems we are facing NOW....

Have you ever looked at countries were people live in plywood/scrap metal homes, don't own cars and haven't for 2-3 generations of their families. How about places where people have no homes at all, or no food at all.

this country also has those problems... they just dont show it on the news.. there are a shiiiit load of people that are homeless right now, there are tons of people that never had cars, people that live under bridges... its EVERYWHERE its here, its south america, its in europe, its EVERYWHERE!!!

I didnt read most of this becuase other than like 3 people posting, it looked like complete retardism.

You're doing nothing by not buying gas for one day. Almost all gas stations are privately owned, so that means you are hurting a small American business man and not some major oil company like some of you people seem to think.

heres the kicker.
Gas is bought in extreme bulk by the gas station. Their money is already spent, and they are trying to recover their spendings (plus profit duh) and have money to purchase more fuel in the future.

the whole thought that we get our oil from other countries because we want to save our oil for later is fucking retarded.
We don't use our own because it will cost too much to collect and refine. It's amazing how people don't know that.

Also we bought Alaska just to have our own oil supply...lol that's where American history comes in

Ummm... If I need gas... I'm pumping... We'll probably hurt the individual business owners more than the actual fuel companies.. We would have to go a looooooooong time without buying fuel to even make them want to consider dropping the prices. We would have to have a seriously devoted group of people and do something like the bus boycott in the civil rights movement. Boycott fuel until they hurt so bad, they have to break. But the U.S. and it's population is so spoiled today that it would hurt the U.S. economy more to boycott fuel than actually do any good. We depend on fuel, it's how our goods get delivered, how the majority of the population commutes and travels, and fuel powers most machines used in many manufacturing industry. So, until we decide to process our own oil supply and still charge us $4.00/gal I really don't mind paying for fuel. I'll just complain, bitch and moan, just like every one else that values their job/livelihood more than dropping the cost of fuel $.025 for a day.
