lol ive been racing all by myself so most of wat i know is from me just practiceing by myself. my ref of a cuzin explained that double clutching was this: lets say im on second full throttle i can jump from 4000rpm to 7000rpm even faster if i slam the clutch down really fast with out moving my foot off the gas just put da clutch down den let go really fast now i aint sure if dats duble clutching but thats wat i do to start a drift which i now know is clutch kicking .what is double clutching then?

not double clutching... Double clutching is putting the car in nutrual before shifting to the next gear...

Double clutching is a technique used to match the speed of your gearbox with the speed of your engine. On non-synchro dog-cut gearboxes (old school or racing boxes) this is about the only way you can shift without destroying your gears. Same goes for downshifting. Basically you clutch in, place shifter in neautral, clutch out, clutch in, place shifter in gear, clutch out. If you ever get a chance to watch an in-car cam of a racer who drives using this technique, it'll be done so fast that you'll wonder whether or not it even happened. Downshift double clutching is basically the same thing except that you rev match while in neautral (and really experienced racers can do this while braking into a turn as well).

Just don't worry about it...you're not double clutching and your cousin is wrong.

Ok, I found a video of Gary Sheehan driving - he double clutches every downshift (upshifting doesn't really make sense if you're shifting quickly). It's 18MB's so if you're dial up, report back tomorrow.

this is not double clutching. that is just Rev matching. damn i should do a video like that. the FC so far is the nicest car ive ever heel-toed. i revmatch alot without using the clutch when drving at 8-9/10ths but at 10/10ths i still used a clutch. its a habit i picked up riding motorcycles most of my life.....i never use my clutch when i ride except for stopping and starting.

hhhmmmm wait i just watched more intently sorry porn was bothering me first time. but yeah he is double pumping the clutch. oops.....what a wanker i am

Shift lock is like a clutch kick but you're not on the gas. By upsetting the drivetrain you momentarily cause the rear to oversteer...this should be followed by a stong throttle on to keep the drift going. Bad for the gears though mang.

Manji-ing is when you drift or sway back and forth while driving in a straight line (but you'd take up at least 2 lanes in the process). This is not to be confused with fishtailing. A good Manji will look really cool and controlled where as fishtailing makes you look like a dumb hick that *almost* hit a curb.

i learned how to do this on a 1998 ford mustand, on 94ave and 50st, i learned to shift lock on accident and did it a few times coming from work at night, and manji-ing to scare my friend chirs, his legs and arms went up allover the dash and was screaming cause i never told him i was gonna go it, he taught i lost controle from going left right left right about 9 times down 50th street in sunrise near westpine middle school. ahh memories,
