Drift on Genki Style's dime !!

I am supprised that there are so few drivers signed up! it's kinda sad actually :|

I'm doing my part to try and get more drivers (I posted it on Nico, talked to a few 240 owners etc..)

Thats a good idea try to spread the word on this to other forums, if it hasn't been done already. I dont think South Florida drifting is in its last breath, there are many fans of the sport. I really can't understand why It hasn't grown bigger. We live a "car guy" state, everything from hot rodders, muscle cars, auto-x, etc and now drifters are here. I would have to say Florida is ranked 2nd behind California when it comes to "car guys" in one state. Yet we can barely hold drifting events.

It seems in way it's marketing, no one really knows what drifting really is except for the hardcore guys. I don't by any means want drifting to sell out to a corporation that doesnt know how to make the sport grow or doesnt have the passion for the sport that many of us have, but we need to get the word out there to the true car enthusiasts. As I said before there are plenty around. I just hope to see more great drivers/teams come from Florida and be competitive in the higher ranks. I'm trying my hardest to be one more of those drivers(just look at my sig :D ), just one step at a time. Sorry for the long rant lol.

this shows how many people acctually drift on this website.....5 people that drifted preety much every event moved, and now look? Not enough drivers blah blah

When the new F&F movie comes out we will have no problems finding drivers... to bad they will all try to drift their civics. LOL

Really we need to tap into the guys who do AutoX etc... I was talking to a guy who had a Porsche Carrera when I was getting my new tires and he was talking about how he does AutoX but he had never heard about drifting... How hard do you think it would be to get those guys involved? I personally would love to see a porsche, viper or vette doing it.

I dont if it shows how many people drift on this site. Its more of now many people drift at events, its a big difference. Some people might be scared to drift infront of other people, some honetly dont have the money(thats why this thread is here to help) and some car are being tuned/fixed as we speak I bet. There are many factors when it comes to drifting to consider.

This isnt like your track drag races or auto-x(except the Bay Bottom Crawl) where you basically bring your car and maybe 1 set of extra tires and your good to go. You'll need many tires, plenty of tools, etc. Drifting is a heavy abuse on a car, you have to be ready for anything to come up. But I really hope people end up going to more and more events soon.

That's my point excatly. These people have the funds and passion to get into drifting and make it grown even more. Drifting is a young mans sport but it doesnt have to be. There a few stories I have with people who would love to drift or support it if they new excatly what it was.

yes! your selling the black one already? i thought you just finished it...

hey zach, tj...how many people have emailed you yet?

Ohhh TJ guess what my tranny just decided to take a crap so you know waht that means MANUAL SWAP!! when i get it back togetther like ..... 20 years from now i'll slide the **** out of it

I will be emailing the chosen tonight.

2 have already been picked, thanks for the...............5 people who were ACTUALLY interested in this. Everyone else should slap themselves upside their heads for turning down free track time

Big thanks to all of you who applied for this. I wish the turnout was better, but I guess we cant force you all to want to drift. So who did we end up choosing??????

Chelsea DeNofa
Kenrik March

These 2 will be representing Genki Style @ OSW. I have personally been on track with Chelsea, I cant find words to describe his talent. Always on, no fear, and boaderline dangerous. Tons of smoke, and great style. He is a great example of what drifting is all about. I dont know much about Kendrik, but his email and story hit home. Fairly new, eager to participate, and willing to do what it takes for track time. I have high hopes for Kendrick, best of luck to him. We are a great group bro, if you need anything to be afraid to ask. Everyone helps EVERYONE!

Make us proud, stand out, and let everyone know who got you all there. Be safe on the track, and have a blast.

Not a compitition.... it goes to the people who need it most.
:EDIT: It went to the people that wanted it the most, and there it is.
Chelsea, seeing you run the Miata without the front bumper to try to ease the overheating got you my full respect man.

Kenrik, What you wrote in really did hit both of us, looking foward to meeting you.

SFL members, if you meet Kenrik at the event, shake this guys hand for Tj and I.
