drifting question

if you let of the gas the car will correct itself, if you stay on the gas you will spin, the trick is keeping the balance between those two things. Dont slam on the breaks when you understeer, and learn to control the car in the rain doing slow drift donuts. This will show you how to react and handle the car... there are a ton of skidpad events where you can get the answer to your question.... But listen to the people on top of me, cause i dont know shit about drifting.

listen to him cuz hes been doing it for years

play more video games. simple and there is a reset button. It will teach you more than you'd think.

yes, dead serious. it can teach you how to run good racing lines. and if you drift in them it gets you used to judging your speed/angle/etc, Some games are obviously better than others for it.

There is a limit to the knowledge you can get of course, you have to eventually learn to 'feel' the car and drive off of some instinct, but the issue of a car correcting itself is going to be solved by more throttle, which would be obvious in a video game. NFSU2 was always good I thought. The cars 'break loose' a little easier in the drift mode courses than real life but the way they handle after that I thought was great and felt similar to how I react/input into the car in real life. Transitions, lines, ebrake extentsions, judging the grip/coast of the car, and a RESET button for the walls/poles.

if u gonna play a game to sim drifting try live for speed(lfs) IMO it has the best physics and dynamics out ther for racing games

+10000000 most of the myculture guys learned how to slide playing gran toruismo 3 with a steering wheel. Its a great learning tool cause your not wrecking your car and wasting tires.

logitech g25 + LFS FTW... lol

clutch, brake & gas pedal with a 6spd shifter and an amazing steering wheel.

If your gonna learn how to drift on video games that would be the best way..lol and the most exciting

lol thanks guys, but i've drifting on forza for awhile but no wheel, and the reason i ask this is cause ever morning i drift this one turn on my way to work, uselly im on second,at about 5000 rpm and the i take my line, let go of gas, push the clutch down, let go of clutch and go gas crazy and it always comes out ok,but the car always jerks at the end when it corrects, but last night i felt ballsy and i did this in 3rd gear at 5500rpms and when she corrected her shelf....i went in to the curve and blow my tires, thank god that was all lol,but yea if any one would like to give me some lessons i'd happy as hell lol

goto a legal event, people will help no doubt.

if you just cant 'end' it smooth it could be because the low power means at a certain rpm the tires just GRIP and unless you are good, it is gonna be jerky. with more power you can 'walk' the drift out longer and smoother. partially to blame is also the open diff as the jerk is that one-wheel regainin grip.

I've never played LFS simply because my computer is not good enough ><
