driving down the interstate

Easiest way to test that out... Wait till car is cool, remove rad cap, start car. If nothing happends your prob good, if rad fluid shoots up a little then there is pressure getting into the rad.

So yea, check all the stupid shit first and start with the cheapest. Try that^... IF nothing happends remove your thermostat, bleed it properly and take it for a test drive. If it still does it try new water pump...

Report back with info.
Not totally true that would happen if theres a big leak but i've had small exhaust gas leaks just heat up coolant.

i am going to put a new t stat in any way but i really doubt that the waterpump is bad because if it was it would run hot in town too and the head gasket dosent seem logical to me being that i have done many consecuative 3 and 4 gear pulls at 17 pounds of boost befour and after this problem with no sign of overheating or a over pressureized cooling system and it never pushes coolant out into the overflow

idk the last motor he had when he blew the head gasket it did that and he only had a pinsize hole in it and it still shot up the fluid a little out the cap.

to op just pull the thermostat out anddrive it and see what happens.

Maybe your 240sx coolant system is alot different then the BMW.

Check water pump, replace if necessary along with thermostat, bleed properly... problem solved...

Also use distilled water not tap water

The bleeding part is one that most people fail to do correctly and wonder why they overheat
