driving the s2000 vs driving the s14

so for months and months now i've gotten used to drifting the honda s2000 and i think i've gotten pretty good at driving it, despite the fact that the electronic stearing robs you of angle at higher speeds. just recently Shokka Shane FINALLY let me drive his s14 and the gap between the two are pretty massive! when driving the s2k i can get the wheels to kick out alot easier than i could in the s14 for obvious reasons. but when driving the s14 i could pretty much make it go wherever i wanted it to. it was so easy to drive the s14 it almosted seemed like anyone could drift in that car. i know thats not true tho. i think its just driving the s2k has forced me to become better with my throttle control and better at feeling the point before you loose control of the car. i'm not saying i'm a pro or anything! i'm just saying that driving the s2k is prolly one of the best trainings i've ever had for drifting.((sorry i was bored! XP))

Idk, I drifted my friends s2000 the other day for a bit and it was fairly easy. I'm waiting to drift a s14 and see the difference.

well its pretty easy until you get up to higher speeds. cause at a certain speed the electronic steering makes yer steering angle alot more shallow even if you have the wheel locked all the way to the left or right. if you ever take it out to an oval track you'll see what i'm talking about. lots of people have tried the car out and most can barely hold a solid line with it at higher speeds. nothing an fd steering rack wont fix tho! (next project for the car)

Yea, I was only going like 50 with it. That steering thing sounds gay.
its pretty gay but once you get the hang of it you can hold a line. it just has to be a really shallow angle and its kinda hard to keep it from straightening out :/

indeed you do. but we got ahold of alex pfiefer and he told us that all we have to do is drop in an fd steering rack and problem solved for that! so money is being saved!

Theres no way to just rip out the electronic thing that decreases the steering angle?

the closest we can get is to unplug power steering ... but to be honest it doesnt help too much plus its fuckin hard as hell to drift with no power steering on that car! XD i've had a harder time driving with no power steering in this car than anyother one! :D

oh and please dont think i'm fanboying trying make this car sound like its the hardest thing ever to drift and i'm the shit cause i can slide it alright! XDD its just this car needs alot of work before it can become a really good drift car! ^.^ oh btw yer beamer is pretty dope tastic! XD

Nah, I wasn't thinking that. I just didn't know about the steering thing.

Thanks, it's not running right now though (rain got on my ecu).

oh how lovely! yeah the steering thing is the biggest issue with the car and thats what gave it the nick name the "undriftable car." also dropping some spacers in might help out too

If you can get a s2k to hold a drift above 30 mph and can maintain the drift.

Then yes s14 will be very easy to drive.

S2000 steering auto adjusts and if you have learned to componensate for that loss of angle. Kudos for y0ou!

jakeishness....you have the s2k right?? could the steering wheel problem thingy come only in the AP2??? shane has driven my s2k and he couldn't feel it robbing angle...could it be a AP2 thing?? I have a AP1, my car also didn't come with TCS and other "safety" stuff
