During the recent years, the drifting industry have began to realize the importance in producing the best formulated tires for the D1 Grand Prix. The Neova was released in 03? followed by the Revspec in 04?. This year, Dunlop and Falken had stepped up to the plate to produce a new line of tires.

DUNLOP DIREZZA Sport Z1
-Ken Nomura
-Tetsuya Hibino

Nomuken?s Impression:
It grips extremely well. It feels as though in my old tires, I was running without shoes, and these feel like I have sneakers on. Since the high grip, I can stop the vehicle easier. Now, I should be able to step on the gas a lot more.

Hibino?s Impression:
I feel really grounded to the pavement with these. Because of that, I feel like I can go even faster but with my current settings, I have to be careful not to slide it sideways too much. The vertical grip on this tire is incredible, if my suspension was set to strong sideway movements, I will be able to utilize this tremendous grip.

FALKEN Azenis RT615
-Yoshinori Koguchi
-Dorifuto Samurai

Koguchi?s Impression:
These are a big improvement from their previous tires. The traction kicks in well, its easy to control, and these warm up fast as well. With these tires, I can increase my entry speed and stay confident from the starting line.

Dorifuto Samurai?s Impression:
The grip characteristics increased drastically from the RT215 to the RT615. I have not gotten the full feel of these tires as of yet because my setup is in the development stages. But when I am able to fully make use of these tires, I think that these will take me very far. I would like to show everyone my samurai drifting, so I will tune my suspension according to these tires.

I've seen the new RT-615s in action and it seemed that the car wanted to understeer a lot until they got warmed up. When they warmed up it was a completely different story.

so they are like the complete opposite of the old azenis

Problem solved put a inverter in your car and use it to power a hair dryer to warm the tires up when not driveing

Same applies for an autocross.

yeah I've talked to a few people and heard really good things about the azenis

I will be able to give you all a throrough review of the Azenis rt-615s next weekend. Breaking them in grip style

i rock the 215s.....and i have no complaint except the rain hurts you but if you know how to kill the understeer in your car then your good to go cus once they hook they dont slip...

Anyone know when the Falken RT-615s 185/60/14 tires will be release? I've heard the end of this month and then it was posted poned for later? Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance.

they decided to come out with a 185? that is sweet i hope it cost less.... a lot less....

I believe the price will be a little less like in the $70s or so. I'll have to check the Falken website or something when it will be released. Those are the size of tire I prefer but I guess until they come out I'm just going to get them in 195/60/14
