I removed mine as well because everyone told me to around here. Car feels just like described above. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

well why did you remove the egr?

EGR=exhaust gas recycling it takes exhaust gases and passes it through the engine again....but hey if you want hot dirty air goin into your engine thats all on u but cold air = better combustion :bigthumbu

when u removed the egr you have to make sure u blocked off the egr hole on the intake manifold. Take some engine starting fluid or brake cleaner and spray it around the places around the egr. If u hear the engine change in idle like rev. up there is a vacuum leak from that area. The best thing todo is goto ka-t.org website. goto the tech section and click on S13/s14 intake manifold emissions section, this will show you how to properly remove the egr, also ebay sells the egr block off plate for dirt cheap, or you can make your own like i did out of steel. I did my block off for my turbo kit from this website, and it worked perfect. It also worked when i was NA. Trust Me check it out.

or you can do like i do everytime and take it to a welder and give him 20 bucks and never worry about leaks ever again :bigthumbu

Egr plate = 10 buxs on ebay. Does a great job. Replace all your vaccuums with new hoses. You should only have like 4 now?

Where do you live? If i find the time ill take a look at it.

i can help did about 5 emission removals befor on obd1 obd2 and all mine worked just right

under_control, i might need your help with that same issue, when i go kat

Np, just let me know. I suggest you buy the plate from Ebay. The plate free's up some room back there by removing the EGR housing and blocking off at the Intake Manifold, rather then the EGR housing.

i dont really like relying on a plate with a gasket under boost witch is y i remove everything clean the manifold and have him weld the hole in the manifold im wondering who u u were refering to when u said "y not do it right?" because welding the hole shut is 10 Million times more reliable than a plat with a gasket epesiall under boost

there are some links on egr removal on ka-t.org as well as 240sxforums.com, but some of the pix aren't there and yes i could just as easily read the listing but, i start getting confused. if you could help me that would be most greatly appreciated

umm.. 2 Ka-t's with a plate and gasket. No leaks yet..:bigthumbu

o....k im just sayin if your refering to me how are u gonna tell me to do it right when clearly my way is better than some plate just because u do it your way doesnt mean its the only right way and i've done my own ka-t b4 ;)

I wasnt doubting the reliability of doing it "your way". I just think its kindve inconvenient to remove your Intake Manifold and take it to a shop when you can just put a plate and gasket with the 3 oem bolts and your done. Most of my friends including myself, have all done this and not one of us leak till date. :bigthumbu

To each there own tho. :p

vacuum

you have to run a hose from the fuel rail to a little line where the egr use to be if you notice where the fuel rail is there is a little line open run a hose from there to the other open line were the hole is on the manifold.your car feels like it's shuting of becuase the gas lines are losing pressure.

huh? see..hats what i mean it sounds good but when i go look at the engine it confuses me........I know im gonna weld the egr hole from the headers but besides that i dont know how to know if all the vacuum are rerouted right.....

My GSX at 28psi has a EGR plate.... holds just fine.
lol enough about the plate ive doe it b 4 myself but i prefer welding it gives me piece of mind and if somethin happens too the car its something less to check i just didt like the fact that he said y dont u do it the right way like welding it was the wrong way just sounded ignorant to me
