hey im taking out my motor and i was woundering if the ruber hose lines that are over the radiator are nessesary. i dont see many of you guys with that stuff and it ggoes to some dumb can thing. i guess i will have to take pics to exlain this better. im trying to clean up the engine bay and get ridd of the unessary things.

are you talking about the Vac lines???

.... unless you know what you're doing DONT DO ANYTHING>

Rip them out. If they are only going to the carbon canister. You dont need them just make sure you blcok them off on the next motor.

yeah they are going to the carbon canister i thought that i could take them out. i knew that it could be taken out cause i never see anyone else on here with that on there car. i will take pics to confirm this.

the other thing is. when changing rear sub frames. to get rid of the 4 way steering. im not clear on wheather or not i block, loop the powersteering lines it. or do i get the power steering pump of the 96 motor and use that and just remove the lines to the rear? thanks

Remove the lines to the rear. The 96 Pmp will work. Dont take anything off the motor. Just remove the line going to the rear.

i need to plug them up then right?

i really appreciate the help cause i dont know everything and im going to have to ask cause i would like to get the car done so i can enter the county line. hopefully.

here are the lines that im talking about

Buy an FSM. Best $65 you'll ever spend. I cannot count the number of times that book has come in handy. You can ditch the canister. It's worthless.

I hate having to look at something on the PC. And printing it out and then putting it all together just isn't worth it for me. Rather have it in my hands. That way my greasy fingers (if they are I wear gloves 24x7 while working) don't mess up my expensive laptop. Not too mention that when I got to download so I can work on an issue it might be tNa. Then I have to wait around to get it.

hey you guys know the vac lines that are on the back of the motor on the head. can those come off too? im not really sure what the hell they do? do i need to take pics so you guys know what im talking about?

The only vacuum line you need for NA is the the FPR. On Boost you need FPR, WASTEGATE and BOOST GAUGE and one more I think. Between the MAFS and Turbo Inlet that goes to the WG.

sweet thanks you guys are helping me out alot!!!!! you dont even know!!! im taking pics anyways cause im proud of where im at with this project! i have the motor out and sitting next to the car, and im now getting ready to replace all the gaskets, and timing chain for the new motor!
