Engine restore question

I need to change my oil before feb 10th, and my motor is lowish compression, 150 across the board. im going to be beating on it so i would like it to be running 100%. Question is is it safe to use with synthetic oil motor? im skeptical about putting anything other than oil in a motor. seeing if anybody has any imput if its worth doing. would it be safer to do the engine restore with oil change, run it for a week, then do a fresh oil change with just oil? never used it, but heard mixed reviews on it
post up ur stuff and tags

If it already has been running regular oil for a long time I highly recommend NOT putting in synthetic. Synthetic oil has a lot of detergents that will eat up the crud made by the minerals in conventional oil, it helps seals. But you risk causing new oil leaks, creating sludge and clogging up your oil ports that can cause oil pressure problems and even bearing failure. Stay with whatever you have been using before and you will be fine.:bigthumbu

Heard that stuff eats turbos I used it on my Sr way back and after about a month or 2 my turbo began to smoke

Sorry, by the way you worded your post I thought you were asking about switching to synthetic. But if I were you, don't risk adding any additives. Just do a fresh oil change before the event or whatever your going to do and you will be fine.

use synthetic, don't use restore bro think about how that stuff works. Yeah it might harden up by the rings in order to raise compression but think about the added stress on your oil pump from pumping that thick solution.
