Fist Pump Friday Night! Feburary 4th

There won't be a pre-registration, just too close to the event to set it up, I'll get it ready for the next event though, sorry for any confusion.

Drivers:
Be at the gates at or before 6pm.

Drivers meeting will be around 6:45 and drifting will start at 7pm.

There will only be a cap on uncaged drivers of 30.

Going to be teching cars Friday night.

Make sure:

Battery is tied down
Seats are mounted well
Cage? Harness check
Loose stuff check

And I need you all to keep an eye out for problems. If you see someone who might get hurt (broken harness, missing 3 lugs) then speak up.

In the future it might be a good idea to switch to water w/additives for radiators, cant have coolant spills eating track time. Any objections?

Also ill give some NOS swag to anyone who comes up with a beginner layout thats safe, fun, and simple to setup (minimal cones moved). PS or MSpaint ur heart out. Post here.

SIMPLE stuff here guys, dont have anything in the car when your driving but you and you damn helmet. no jacks, tools, wheels, extra helmets.... you serious with that stuff?

I see it every event, now that is on the tech sheet, I/anyone helping run shit will sideline you until its fixed (take the crap out and come back in line). and NO- YOU CANNOT JUST PUT IT ON THE GROUND IN STAGING AREA.

For beginners, y don't u start them closer? so that its 2nd gear entries and lower speed.
I was thinking about this when I was there last time, if u start them by the big scaffolding that , Steve-O was standing ontop of; to the left of the scaffolding theres removeable barriers...and they could start there, make a right towards the wall that i wrecked on, slide it and come back out the same side they started, so they would make sort of a P shape...OR, start there, slide it as i just said, but do it twice, and come out where we usually start, and drive through the go kart area(at a low speed obviously) and come back to the line. That would also give the illusion of a quicker moving line.
BUT, be strict about tha spinning out/burnout extravaganza bullshit. IF u spin off...drive off the fucking track. IF you sit there and do donuts for more than 3 seconds, your session is done.
just an idea =)

Or how about it just stays the same because they have to learn one way or another how to enter high speed. The sooner the better. Moving them closer will only be hurting them in their skill development.

Gotta crawl before you can walk bro.
I wouldn't worry about entering fast until I could do the track decent everytime.

Roberto flamingo, I think moving the start line up would be a good idea for the beginner groups.

I understand what your saying Pat, All I'm saying is I think it will hinder them cause I was not very happy when my entry run in distances were shortened because I was in a lower skilled class because I wanted to learn to control the car at higher entry an drift speeds just as good as the top level guys I was sliding with back then. Just saying... let them feel it out an learn. :driving:

maybe set the staging area back a little bit to avoid manji nightmares.

Well when you're obviously killing it with slower entry, then you'll be moved up. That's all Pat and Ahmed are saying. You won't learn anything when you can't drive for 6 months because your car is sitting in your driveway at home all wadded up.

Not to attack you at all, but driver's do not learn, or develop more skill unless they are comfortable.

This past event there were TWO beginner classes, an intermediate class and an advanced. IF u start in the beginner class, and ur doing awesome with 2nd gear entries, then u move into third gear entries...
Once u have the 3rd gear entries down its only a matter of time till u step up to the advanced level.

These aren't comps, this is all about gaining skill...and driver's will not gain skill running goofy lines attempting to dodge krails.

This track has walls, yes...
So (seeing as how beginners are the largest amount of drivers) y not tend to their needs?
DSMSpoolin's Idea of moving the starting line up seems like a very simple and feasible idea.

PS- This is by NO MEANS andickhead move, nor do I thin I am an elitist or any of that bullshit. I don't care what the beginner class does as I know they have a timed session just like every other class...so what happens there does not effect me in the smallest way.
This is also not a punishment for beginner drivers, if beginner drivers want to give their input, I am sure no one would have an issue with that.

Ahmedootie to the rescue! :D:bigthumbu

With the starting line closer the runs will be shorter, thus beginers will get more seat time and therefor will get better! Erry bawdy happeh!
