it's facing the wrong way!!! :p

yeh thats the thing, not many people can get some fwd sr parts to fit rwd........ so im thinking about making it happen. There is something in that picture that i might use providing during this project if i find enough money.

why not just buy a rwd sr and put the money and time you save into rocker stoppers and the other crap that makes this motor so good???

because i really dont want to go turbo, N/A the SR20VE is capable of making 220-250 hp with minor mods, in my opinion that is great. you dont have to deal with lag, over heating, and the power will always be there.

How many different VE motors are there?
There are five (5) VE motors.
SR16VE - 173hp 5 speed Manual 97-2001
SR16VE N1 - 197hp 5 speed Manual 97-98
SR20VE - 187hp CVT 6 speed Auto 97-2001
SR20VE - 204hp 6 speed Manual 2001-Present
SR20VET - 276hp AWD Turbo 2002-Present

How much power does the VE have?
SR16VE - 173hp @ 7800rpm / 119lb torque @ 7200rpm
SR16VE N1 - 197hp @ 7800rpm / 134lb torque @ 7600rpm
SR20VE - 187hp @ 7000rpm / 145lb torque @ 6000rpm
SR20VET - 276hp @ 6400rpm / 228lb torque @ 3200rpm

How much do they cost?
SR16VE - $1000-$1600
SR16VE N1 - $3000+ good luck finding one*
SR20VE - $1000-$2500
SR20VET - unknown

i know thats a SR20VET, But if you didnt know the SR20VE is the same thing just with out a turbo. The sr20ve NEO VVL comes with almost 190 HP stock. So what i was refering to; was that if ricks figures out a way to make the swap easier i really wouldnt want the VET when I could have the VE is cheaper and easier to find. Do you know how hard it is to find a SR20VET? I have been researching on these engines for over a year now, and I havent seen a SR20VET for sale.

I agree that the responce is better but you're going to take out a na ka to put in another na engine plus spend a year finding it and then making it rwd and then paying a rediculously inflated price for it....big waste. Just builld an all motor sr20det or put itb's, cams, and higher compression pistons in your ka. Why not put an s2000's engine in your car if you really are concerned with swapping motors. also, with less torque you think it's going to drift better? You'll have to be in super high rpms to spin the tires.

I think it's a waste of time like putting an sr in a bmw!

i personally can get engines really cheap. It wont be the tons of money that you might be thinking about. It wont be naturally asperated. This will be a seperate chasis that I will put togeather. Thats all.
