Front speakers

Ok I have a problem that isnt much but i am picky about it. My right passenger door speaker doesnt work i did replace the door, but all the wiring is correct..it HAS to be. So i removed the plastic things on both sides and mounted a 6 1/2 on the driver side so now i am running 3 speakers. I was researching through ebay and found these "Active Speaker" amps and my speaker grills say it, and i believe they are still on there. Would it be easier to mount speakers if i remove them or should i remove them and find some off a normal base s13 to make it easier to install 6.5 speakers and possibly it might fix the problem.

I couldn't understand most of it. If your speaker isnt working and you know the wiring is correct then just replace the speaker and it should work. One way to check is plug your other door speaker into that wiring and see if it works.
 
No but its cuz i think its wired to the amp and then to the speaker..... i didnt know that was an amp till now. I am thinking if i rip all that shit off and connect it str8 to the radio it might just work.

Active speaker is basically each oem speaker had it own amp, you have to wire up your new speakers WITHOUT the amp, so basically rip everything out but only the speaker wires, then wire up your new speaker, will work like a charm, if you look on ebay they sell this bracket peice so you can run 6.5 inch speakers in the front instead of the gay 4x6s, if you own a S13 coupe then that means its 6.5 all around very nice, jsut make sure if you want good sound quailty get 3 way speakers. and IMO infinti makes the best ones but i hear alpine is up there.
 
just take the old bracket you have there trace it out on wood cut a hole for your speakers, paint it black. mounts in the same spot. did it on mine years ago works great, looks clean . used infiniti speakers . cant go wrong(speaker choice is just a preference) that is all up to you . but save your money and make your own mounts.GL
 
everytime i do a stereo install even when i worked at best buy i rewired the whole car the stock wiring is crap justr run new wires fron the head unit to each speaker it takes like 15 min and the sound quailty is worth it.
 
Ok i will do that.....and about the wiring myself i wanted to do that but im not sure how to run wiring thorugh the door and behind the dash and stuff, i did wire the rear ones myself though. Thanks for the help everyone!
 
use a metal coat hanger or a really hard wire not a thick guage but one that dosnt bend easily
 
if you have the stock head unit you cannot remove the amps. you wont get any sound out of the speakers if you do. the only way to rip it all out would be to replace the factory head unit with aftermarket and replace the speakers.
 
Yea i got a sony head unit lol i dunno my sound sytem is pretty nice...for having 3 speakers lol. I got a Sony HD, blaunkput speaker on the driver side(6 1/2), blankput component speakers for the rear, and an Orion 12" sub powered by a 650 watt Jensen amp. Its kinda funny cuz for the really crappy way my system is put together...it does pretty good, but i really wanna get that passenger door fixed!
