Full cover insuranse A+

I have insurance with State Farm I know of a lot of stolen cars lately, from 240's to Lexus SC's and I have both cars. Well I called my insurance company today and asked if they will cover for any modifications to the car and the answer was yes... you need a copy of all receipts and take a picture of the car, they will cover from my coilovers, motor swap, paint job and so on.

I was about to change my mind on doing my project coupe, but these are really good news to me even if they don't cover 100% of the modification but it will cover alot more then Blue Book Value...

NOTE: They have to take pictures of the car after the car is done, for example; Paint job, rims, sterio, etc...

ask them about extra insurance my frind had a show/daily rsx and he has geico and he added something called extra insurance to cover the cost for everything in his car in case anything happend and i mean everything 100% will be paid for

I am a claims adjuster for Progressive insurance so let me chime in. I too have state farm on my personal cars and they will cover mods as long as you have the reciepts... They are about the only company to do this. Almost every other company requires that you purchase additional aftermarket equipment coverage to cover any additional parts over $1000. Do not fool yourself and think that every company will cover a/m parts. If you have state farm, KEEP IT. If you don't and want your car covered you should try to get but it generally is not cheap if your coming from a different carrier.

Your other option is to buy a "stated amount" policy but it will cost more then it is worth... Bottom line, if you cars modded and you don't have State Farm (and the reciepts) you better be willing to loose the money that you put into your car.

Thanks for the good info, I love State Farm and the price to ensure all the cars is really good compare to other cheap insurances, but I found out that you driving record should be PERFECT...

Yeah they basically have a 3 strikes and your out rule... The bad thing about that is that once your dropped your screwed b/c any other company is going to charge you alot and there is really nothing you can do about it once you've been dropped. State Farm is biggest insurance company in the U.S. and they can do thing other companies can't afford to do, like cover a/m equipment. Not that Progressive is all that bad ;) ...

So if I buy over ebay how do I keep the receipt for that? Just keep all the paypal logs?
That should suffice but I would double check with your agent before taking my word for it.

Alright thanks man. I have statefarm and had no idea that was possible.

edit- I just noticed you said they have to take pictures....does that mean you have to drive your car over to statefarm and ask them to take pictures of it and stuff?

I can't stress enough... Document everything!!! Pictures, Reciepts, anything... The more documentation you have for what you've done to your car the easier your life, and the adjusters life, will be if you ever have to put a claim in. I don't recommend claiming anything unless you HAVE to but that is up to the individual person as to what the can afford to take a loss on. Hope this helps :bigthumbu

God I am bored at work today

I'm not sure, just call you agent and ask for more info that's what I did. I told her that I'm not fixing my car tomorrow, but it will get done, and she told me that when I'm ready just let her know to take the pictures and send the (Invoices) to the claims agency.

For ebay invoices what I'm doing is;
1. Save the e-mail that they send you once you win the item
2. Save the paypal invoice
3. Save your invoice one you get you Credit Card statement
4. and more if I can think of...

That's if you can't get an invoice from the seller.

Just make sure that all your receipts or invoices link back to your account in some way and save shipping confirmation that may help to link it back to the address that the insurance has in your records...
