Gas/ Gas Gauge Problem...where is it coming from

So last night i put 10 bucks in my car and it brought me to half a tank. Went to the track today and slid around, got done, and my gas gauge needle is pinned on full. Wtf? I dono if somthing inside the tank got stuck or what....I tried swerving left and right, accelerating quickly and stopping hard and no give. I dono wtf happened...has this happened to anyone else before?

Car is a 1995 Nissan 240sx.

Ya that happned to my 95. The Floater gets stuck up sometimes when sliding try filling tht ank completly. Or open the tank and push it back down.
