Gas Mileage

:confused: Hey guys...I have a question....I have the 91 ka24de.....removed the whole egr system.....I was just wondering if there is anything that I can do so that the car wont waste so much gas.....within two days i have wasred a 1/4 of a tank of gas......Is there anything I can do to improve my gas mileage?
 
yeah, dont drive crazy!!! so accelerations and coast more......... shift at 2300 instead of 3k. let your car get to operating temp. before driving it. colder running engines use more gas than an engine at O.T. but thats it, no special product that will give u better gas milage. proven on "MYTHBUSTERS"

haha, i saw that episode. You can use old cooking oil form McD's if you run a diesel though, lol. But ya, go easy on the gas if your not wanting to waste gas. Also, use all of your gears. In my camaro, i would be doing about 45-50 in 6th gear...only about 1500-2000 RPM :bigthumbu I would still use alot of gas cause of the v8, but it was manageable. Of course I had to have a full tank if I wanted to go out sliding or playing around for the night...I would literally come home with less then a quarter tank left after running it all night.
 
haha a 1/4 tank in 2 days???????? gees man do yourself a favor and dont get a rotary. i got 12 mpg on my stock motor in the city. going tomorrow to pick up my car with a port job so im thinking the gas mileage is going to be a little worse.
 
^^^ i was just aksing this becuase b4 i took off my egr a full tank of gas will usually last me like 10 days and a if i do a whole day of drifting i wouldn't even watse a 1/4 of tank......So i guess changing out the injectors or getting a FPG wont help......

hell yea i shift so low my car nearly cuts off
but the real point in this reply is MYTHBUSTERS FTMFW

Are you serious? What would changing injectors or the use of a Fuel Pressure Gauge accomplish?
 
So your getting worst gas milage after the EGR removal? I'm planning to do this to my single cammer but if it will get worst than the 19mpg im getting now i'll opt not to...

LOL... i changed out my injectors for a set of DeatschWerks stock 270cc replacements a few weeks ago and my MPG has gone up about 2-3 miles.

Of course, the whole reason i changed them out to begin with was due to one of the old ones constantly hemorrhaging fuel into my engine bay :mad: That tends to have a negative affect on your mileage.

ok dude the egr will cost you a bout a mile to the gallon. You should still get about 24mpg avg. if you drive normal.

Change your fuel filter and plugs and wires. Also make sure you have good air pressure.

My miata gets about 2.2 miles to the gallon at the track...There is no helping a heavy foot.
