Gear Oil?

We took the shifter off of the SR20 tranny to put it in, all the oil fell out, where do we refill it? Or should we just fill it up in there again?

on the bottom of the tranny there is a drain plug... not far from the drain plug on the side of the tranny there is a fill plug... both require a half inch ratchet to open

make sure the car is level and fill the tranny until the oil begins to overflow from the fill plug..

those are the steps for my 300zx vg30de which is obviously a lil different..
i'm still trying to figure out how pulling the shifter got you to drain the gear oil.. ::scratches head::

good luck! :D

you can just refill it thru where the shifter goes, just make sure to use the right amount or else you'll be smelling gear oil for a longgggg time

he was installing the motor and tranny as one piece im guessing and took the shifter off and when they were putting it in the tranny is almost | with the ground so splish splash

Yeah, that was easy. What we're having trouble with now is bolting the crossmember to the body. Can't seem to get all 4 holes aligned properly, working in the dark with one light and only one jack.
Boy does it suck to do shit when you don't have the right tools/equipment.
