Go Boost or SR swap???

ok well im getting my 240 pretty soon and i have talked to a few different ppl and i cant make up my mind if i should go KA boost or swap to an SR motor. There are a couple things that i have been thinking about. if i would do the SR swap my car would last longer than if i were to go boost due to car mileage and other factors. i really dont know what to do. please leave feedback. thanks for the insight guys

also i dont know about nissan motors too much but i do have basic knowledge about them

yea i a honda guy and i know basically everything about those motors but it doesnt really help me now lol

i have dont research on it but i cant make up my mind
there are just so many factors invloved..how long car will last, price of parts, labor invlolved, maintanence

i was talking to jdmnismo300 in school about this and he said that since the KA motor isnt a high reving motor something is bound to fuck up...i wanna know if this is true

I suggest rebuild the KA if mileage is a factor. Miami240 has made mid 400's on his stock ka-t with over 100k miles. If ur KA blows just then no worries junkyards are full of them. If u blow ur SR then ur fucked. I'm in ur situation too but I've talked to many ppl and to my suprise they say the logical choice is to go KA.

SR20DET swap:
Pros: Factory reliability, can make major power, tons of aftermarket support.
Cons: Small turbo, less torque, aftermarket support is in Japan.

KA24DET:
Pros: Monster torque curve, less expensive.
Cons: New pistons required after 12-15psi.


The KA has an iron block and the SR is an alluminum alloy block. chemestry proves that iron is stronger than alluminum.
