i am getting coils and i was wondering if when i remove the stock spring and strut assembly if i need a spring compressor or if removing as a whole is okay without the spring compressor.
 
you can remove the assembly without a spring compressor. you only need one when taking the spring off of the strut.
 
yeah i am..... why........ is making sure that i do something the right, safe way a problem. but thanks for your concern.

shoulda seen it comin...... ask a simple question which then turns into a whole thread about how stupid i am for it being my first time..... with anything.....whatever thank you vas for your quick first response as it sits i am getting the coils tomorrow so i will take the springs and struts out tonight and trade for stock tomorrow. by the way if i do run into trouble i have lots of people who can help, and a knowledgeable dad.
 
Need a spring compressor.. Ha What an idiot.

Its very simple. Make sure you have a breaker bar and maybe some pb blaster too. Not hard at all.

What kind of coils you getting?

for some reason i have a feeling this guy is going to try to adjust he preload instead of his ride height and fuck things up.

That would be pretty funny.

For front: 3 top nuts, 1 bolt for brake cable, and 2 bottom bolts
For rear: 3 top nuts and 1 bottom nut that was a pita
 
i am going to install them and then maybe get an alignment. i know that doesnt sound smart because alignments are worthless. but i am not paying 140 dollars for some shmuck to install something so simple.

how are alignments worthless? and there not 140, u can get them for 40 dollars lol and they will save u from eating up ur tires from poor to and camber(not so much camber as toe).

george i was trying to be sarcastic, and installation was gonna be 140. not the alignment, and of course im gettin alignment, i can get alignments for 15 bucks. but yeah update on vert status, getting coils btw, imm gonna be on xbox till 445 get on.
 
Was suppose to get an alignment but i havent yet. Look around to see what the lowest price for an alignment is. A local high school by me has an alignment machine and they only car 20. Not saying you can find the same deal but just shop around

When you get your coils make sure that they are even left to right. Measure it to be sure. You dont want your car to be on a tilt. Also decide on your dampening
