GTR Transmission

That sexy Media guy

one of the famous ones that broke after a month being replaced

These are pics of the new Transmission going in. This one believe it or not was ready to bolt in and apparently the tranny was dropped during shipping from Japan because the axle would not bot up to the differential. The case was bent and they would not even go together so you could bolt them up. The tranny and diff were shipped as one unit.

I was also surprised to see the rear cradle was made of steel and not aluminium and look how small the rear sway bar is. Its the size of my pinky finger. For as good as the car handles it blows my mind how small the sway bar was.

Sorry for the shitty pics. They were taken with my iPhone.

shit looks like a mechanical nightmare....i bet only the seasoned techs get to turn wrenches on these things. i heard somewhere that certain nissan dealers flew out technicians over to japan to see how these are assembled and for training

probably nothing since that only supposedly happened once and with no proof

no this is a local guy that everyone read about, he was denied by nissan, so the cost was 11k for the tranny, dont know the specifics, just what I read on another board

funny then how these stories change from person to person.

1 guy says $20k. This guy its $11k

Why was he denied coverage?

cause he turned the VDC off 230 or something like that times in a month from what I was told. The photos come from a guy that works at the dealership.

looks pretty easy to me.. and as for the techs get flown over to the mother ship its nothing new really... they do things like that all the time for high end cars, my uncle worked for astin, jag, bently, rolls and they flew him to england all the time to learn and see the productiong of new cars being made... gives the techs another look at the car being built to see how things go together. they also sent him to texas, chicago, cali, and more for training too.
