help with blow off valve....

i have a ssqv hks blow off valve. when i drive it whistles non stop. pressure is leaking through it. can anyone help me to fix it? i live in broward. where can i take it or is it a easy fix? also, does the pressure drop constitute smoke from the exhaust? it smells rich. when i stop the smoke comes to my window then goes away a little bit. thanks for your help.

so 9 people look at my thread and no help...like its here for decoration..lol

Y would we help someone with no common sense? It's leaking or it's to soft, learn to use google.

Having a huge leak in your system would cause smoke/pig rich smell - adjust bov accordingly or replace (TIAL and never look back)

i dont know if the ssqv is adjustable, but im not sure cuz i had one about 9 years ago

i think it has 3 or 4 screws on the back if i remember correctly, take it apart and check the seals inside it probably is just the seal on the inside, check to see if they sell the seals by themselves which i believe they do

the hks is not adjustable there is no soft or hard setting. to change that you need to change the spring in the front of the bov (front meaning where the air shoots out)

im pretty sure your problem is how the bov is set in the flange...

with a hks ssqv bov you have the flange and an o ring and snap ring..

most other bovs you need to screw into the flange making that seal.

there is space between the flange o ring bov and snap ring...to check and make sure go buy a tube of silicon and fill the entire flange space with it. the sound will go away. that means there is space.

this happened to me and now my bov has that stuff all gooped up around it lol, i used black so you cant tell unless you look close but mine doesnt make the sound anymore. this is a temporary fix or a diagnostic test only. i do not think it would hold up the boost pressure over time and will again start leaking

edit: ill take a picture when i get home from work to show you what i mean

get the little O Ruber .. and snap it where it goes with the C clamp. and you gonna be fine. unless you have wrong O ring . or u dont have any . or check your flange for the bov
