Homestead mini comp

By the way, my buddy who showed up to spectate had one of my camcorders and took video of everyone. If you want some footage (in .MOV), hit me up and I'll have it sent to you.

Gary, you are right bro, we are all a team......

We need to make all the best drivers in SFL in a huge team or something, just like how DA is scattered around the US, we should do the same but only SFL drivers.....lets fuck em up....hahaha

Im glad everything came to an understanding....my dumb ass usually sounds like a pissy fit mofo, but i meant no harm...its my ways of saying things or typing it out i guess that made things get fired up in here.....

I love all of you......and Tim, i am glad this got cleared up dude!

..... so i searched for "thread with friends who hate each other" and i ended up in here ...

....k, i didnt but come-aaaaannn

Pro drifting is not a joke, it's a business.

All you "grassroots" drifters keep bragging about how it's a joke, but it does you more good than you realize.

The main problem you all argue that people who are into pro drifting are just as much of a "joke" as the idea of pro drifting. While there are cases where some people lose the heart for the sport and become too business oriented, there are many others that have not. There are a bunch of people that are in the professional drifting business (and not only drivers) but companies who are putting in good money into it.

Yes they are expecting to make some out of it, but another main goal constantly overlooked is to make the sport even bigger.

Why wouldnt they? The bigger it gets, the more people get into it and the better it gets for everyone. Win-win right?

But there are the guys who are grassroots and call themselves "O.G.", and f*ck everyone who joined after Tokyo Drift. F*cking posers right?

Wrong.

You want drifting events to get bigger? You want more options? More tracks? Maybe a full-time drift track with events every weekend for 20 bucks?

Well guess what? You need to get a lot of people interested in the sport. Spectators, drivers, companies. It's gotta grow MUCH bigger than it is now. And who are the ones who are going to do it? The companies and drivers who are working together to do so.

Professional drifting is MUCH MORE than just the judging. The problem is that most people that complain about it not only have nothing to do with professional drifting, but they miss the greater picture.

I have companies that invest in me to go out there and represent them. They invest in me, and not the sport. But by investing in me, I am able to make it to more events by saving costs in the parts they provide me with. So that's one more drifter attending events more often.

We all gotta do our share to make sure drifting gets big enough to make sure that we have the opportunities to do all the drifting we want, when we want, at a great price. Just like, if not better, than how Japan has it.

You think drifting in Japan isnt a business? Please.

With that said, carry on.

This is good, Thank you Erick

Anyone that says pro-drifting is a joke should look at what pro-drifting brings to us. Sure there are cons, but the pro's outweigh them significantly. I'm not trying to stir anything but the more drifting gets bigger, the more opertunities are brought to us. Drifting used to be rare, back in the day, driving to hialeah and shit for an oval track.

Now look we got countyline moroso homestead speedworld desoto.....etcetc

Shit, we have a event in Fl 1 time a month ATLEAST. Do you honestly think we would have the people to run these events all the time without people wanting to go watch us at moroso, cause WE ALL KNOW that harri don't make the money back on just us drivers. Money is placed up front for us to drift and this wouldn't be possible without those involved in the sport. New people are getting involved everyday cause of the pro drifting.

I dont want to start up shit but you people took raffi all wrong.

Heres what he meant. Awesome event tim, sounds like people liked it. However, if it is meant to be a DEMO (which this really was a mini-comp in the end) then that means DEMONSTRATION.

Demonstration implies you are putting on a show for spectators and getting more publicity and more spectators IN THE GATE. This means you are helping their business as a performer and should be getting in for FREE at the least *again this is for a strict demo.

The realization that they want good (not super pro) drivers means they have good cars/presentable/higher performance/higher cost to operate and travel to events (trailers etc). By the venue that requested a demo from good drivers, they should be able to cover the cost of gas/tires for the performance in the next best scenario.

The real deal demos (like up north/west etc) are not put on by drivers that are very similar in skill to our good drivers in FL. They get tires supplied, gas compensation, AND money on top of it most of the time.

As ERICK SAID, its a business.... if someone hired you to work at and amusment park to push the green button to make the rollercoaster go, but also said you gotta pay to get in the gate and pay the electric bill for that ride you work on, would you WORK FOR THEM AND BRING IN THE PARK ATTENDANCE? I doubt it.

Raffi wasnt being a dick, he was simply saying dont LET THE TRACK SCREW THE DRIVERS OVER when a 'demo' should be free at the least deal, compensated at the average deal, and paid at the best deal. I know Tim works his ass off getting cool venue such as this and no hate on him, just if they ask for a DEMO next time they should be happy they are getting drivers to drive the event for them instead of trying to make more money. If they try to pull some 'insurance/operating cost' then tell them maybe next time. Let them have an event with 100s or 1000s of return fans asking where are the drifters? Then I bet they let you in free. Then tire changes need work as well.

and i enjoyed erick quoting raffi but i understand his position was more open minded until he went and realized that going to one nopi event is like 1000$ minimum adventure with the possibility of broken cars. and once you hear from guys who are doing similar demos and getting paid kind of makes you think, why arent we getting the same?

cg gary. lol. still on stock susp?
