Once im done doing my SR swap into my s14? I have the FMIC, DP, z32 maf, z32 fuel filter, walbro fuel pump, avcr, my aem wideband and the aem FIC. What are some expected numbers that you've guys got? Im thinking raising the boost maybe up to 10lbs or so to keep it safe.(i've read that the stock internals can hold boost up to 12-13lbs but i rather keep it at 10lbs)
thanks in advance :bigthumbu

i wouldnt go past 12 lbs on a stock motor if your looking for more power get a bigger turbo

thats what im going to do eventually, i wanna be around 400 hp. fully built sr with a much bigger turbo. Thanks for the info, hopefully after i get it installed and tuned i'll be getting those numbers. :bigthumbu

10 lbs isnt alot of boost so your gonna make 250-280 depending on the tune
Not even close. He will be lucky to make around 230whp...

10lbs is nothing. I ran my old t28 @ 18lbs for years and put down around 285 whp on a stock ecu and afc. Never had a problem and wish I never changed from that set-up:(. Get some 550's, go to the dyno and start turning up the boost:bigthumbu.

18lbs?! wow thats a lot, surprised you didnt blow your engine. did you do any internal work? because i have the stock ecu with the aem piggy pack fic with an avcr so im good there, only need the 550cc injectors...would that be good to able to get atleast 260 whp? maybe on 15lbs??
thanks...

ps..the hood is waiting for you homie!

dood.
SR's will hold power. Idk where you heard they wont hold more than 10psi.
And 10psi...on what turbo?
I ran 22psi on a gt2871r with the 3 inch inlet and .64 exhaust on my sr on stock internals for like 4-5 events. Only thing done to my internals were new stock bearing and rings and an apexi headgasket with ARP headstuds

just re-read what I posted. No, it didnt only last 4-5 events. My motors still ridin out. I just ran 22psi at like 4 or 5 events.

i jus did my swap too and im turning my shit up to about 12-14 psi.......i dont think it will be that bad because u wont be in high boost all the time while u drive....but i'll say the worst that can happen is i lose the stock turbo no biggie

on a t25, you can run how ever much boost you want to run. You arnt gonna hurt a damn thing except the turbo after awhile.
At the Gville qualifier I just unplugged my wastegate vaccum line and rode out.

Hahahahaha that's awesome!

I don't know who told you sr's can't handle boost but they were misinformed. I run a t3/t4 60 trim now w/a PFC and make 300whp @ 14psi and beat on my engine like it owes me money. No problems at all for the last 2 years running this same set-up and doing more events then I can remember. 100% stock engine.

Sweet! I'll call you tomorrow on that:bigthumbu.

The thread title is awesome. I pictured someone going to the horsepower store, looking at horsepower on the shelves, and thinking, "hmmm... I wonder how much I should get?"

i run 11-15 lbs s14sr with stock injectors it makes 250 whp at 10lbs creeping to 12lbs all stock engine ecu and everything. A good sr will safely boost 10-12lbs for a while as long as you dont get too lean.
