jdmnismo300

just got $300 wat should i buy for my 91 sileighty HELP ME OUT ALL OPINIONS WELCOME(except 4 da fags dat are gonna tell me 2 buy a bunch of stickers and a drifting for dummies book) GO!!

LSD and some lowering springs (tein or espelir).. I have a lsd for sale ;) just find the axles for it and you're set.

or buy some Dunlop SP Sports FM901 tires for the front of your car

i just got new tires and i will only buy coilovers no springs or shocks

dumb? i plan to track my car so i want to be able to adjust ride height and dampening. dumb is buying lowering springs so i can blow my stock shocks

r u a pro track driver alrdy?????????? u think that just by buying coilovers ur gonna become a pro track driver , if u get a goood set springs and shocks they will be more than good enough to practice with

ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Tell that to my autox/track crew who run revalved konis with swift springs. Whats DUMB is the fact that "springs on stock shocks" came out of your mouth when talking about tracking a car.

I love how everyone is all up on coilovers nuts. Have you ever been on a Florida road track?

ive never been on a track at all. ive seen a bunch of my friends buy just springs and fuk up dere shocks all im saying is that i refuse to buy springs ad shocks because i think ide gain more knowledge and experience by trying out different settings with adjustable dampening and different ride heights ive talked to a couple of ppl who autox/and road race and they all recomend coilovers not once in this thread have i claimed that by buying coilovers ide become a pro track racer and i know that buying springs with aftermarket shocks will work for tracking i said springs with STOCK shocks wouldnt work
idk if u guys are insulted by a younger guy trying to spend more money to try to drive better when you can do it better for cheaper but w.e thanks for the ambush i actually hoped on someday driving with a couple of you guys. wen i first joined this site i use to watch alibaba's vids of him driftin in da rain and thought fuk i wanna be able 2 do that i almost traded my sileighty for a stock coupe after i discovered the bad ass coupe hidden in kwkouki's sig but w.e thanks for givin a helpin hand i guess

first off, you come in here with an attitude problem

Then you start spouting off at the mouth with bogus responses to good advice

The autoX people who you "spoke" to dont have a fucking clue what they are talking about. Maybe im wrong.....maybe they autoX on 100% crack/pothole/ditch/missing blacktop/uneven terrain free parking lots. I will be evern more wrong if they autoX on road courses.......even then im yet to see a perfect road course here in Fl. Coilovers respond well on one thing.......good surface. When you hit a dip in the road when cornering, most coilovers will wheel hop in the rear, giving you useless traction. Coilovers also hamper weight transfer in a low speed autoX course, sometimes producing understeer.

If you have done your homework, you will know that $300 wont buy you shit unless shopping off of eBay. Aftermarket springs need aftermarket shocks. Dont bother buying one part of the package without the other. Save more and do it right the first time.

You will learn alot here from certain people, dont show up acting like a hard ass and listen to the people who know what they are talking about.

none of my previous comments were'nt meant to be rude i started off with the first post just so nobody would tell me that and as for dans advice he sugested buying only lowering springs never did he mention buying aftermarket shocks . the people i asked before actually do road racing my gf stepdad has a supercharged nsx and he has coilovers come to think of it every track ive seen him run in is in farely good condition so i can see why hed suggest colovers i appreciate the info but it it could have been brought forward alot better than with this "attitude problem" "ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Tell that to my autox/track crew who run revalved konis with swift springs. Whats DUMB is the fact that "springs on stock shocks" came out of your mouth when talking about tracking a car. I love how everyone is all up on coilovers nuts. ive never seen the conditions of the tracks here in sf so srry for thinkin i needed coilovers . i thought my gf step dad would have been a good source to get advice from so i stuck with that info
maybe now ill reconsider and look up a nice spring and shock combination after hearing your advice u seem to be a credible source but your replys to my post could have been alot more helpful if ude have written with a little less "smartassnes"(for lack of a real word) so thank you for the info on tracks and autocross here in south florida NOW if this prob is resolved wich i hope it is im still open for any more sugestions even though that lsd is taking the lead wat other additional hardware or $ would i need for the lsd?miles on it?

pics plz so we can decide how to spend ur money...

dude. SAVE it.. and wait till u get another 600 hundred and get some coilovers

now u tell me coilovers lol this requires a new fukin thread "coilovers vs. shocks and springs"

the point of a forum is for opinions and you're noty always gonna get ones you like, actually on this forum you will get more you don't like.

This place breeds people like me pole-position and TJ to always tell you to do the EXact oppisite of what you want to do, Why? Because its fun seeing people get pissed

for the LSD you would need to get either 180SX 5bolt axles or Infiniti J30 5bolt axles (30-100$) depending where you get them from. Diff has idk how many miles, usually 80-120k miles at jyards. it's stock Viscous LSD, perfect upgrade for beginners for AutoX or Drifting.

If you are really interested, send me a PM and we can work out a price.

as far as adjustable shocks, learn to drive on non-adjustable ones first, no need for adjusting, isnt any need for it if you are just starting out, just get some GR2s and some nice springs cuz when you hit a curb..u will hit a curb... you'll just have to buy a new thing anyway so learn on shocks n springs unless you want to be paying 1000$ plus 300$ each new shock you break from the coilovers.. buy some Tein S-Techs and some new GR-2 shocks (30$ ea. shock + 155$ for the springs) lowers it very nice amount and the spring rates are fine for drifting autoX and daily driving. I've personally ran this setup for years and have no complaints.

Heres some old clips of me driving with S-Techs and GR2 Shocks and VLSD with intake exhaust yay. Enjoy.
