Many years back I remember watching a touring car race where these 2 Altezzas finished good, but didnt win. Like 3rd and 4th or something. They looked like cars from the same team, both were red and white and when the race was over they both pulled off to a large runoff area in one corner and began doing tandem donuts together, windmills, etc.. whatever you kids call it today lol.
This was in 2000-2001ish and I'm pretty sure it was on a TV show called "Motorsport Mundial" which was on this really cool TV channel called "SpeedVision" haha, ahh memories..
Well basically I had to pick my jaw up off the floor, I was totally astonished. I mean at the time I was pretty sure that the only people aware of drifting besides my friends and I, were either in Japan or some weirdos in cali called slidesquad..... lol jk Mike
The only fact I could remember is the race was in Macau. But I finally remembered to look this crap up on the internet last night. So here is what I found:
At the ETCC race in Macau 2001 TeamADVAN fielded 2 Altezza's.
Ok, good so far, but guess who was driving them......
Manabu Orido and Nobuteru Taniguchi!!
Well shit... it all makes perfect sense now. Orido finished 2nd and Taniguchi was 4th apparently.
hard to believe, this is 3 years before SFLdrifters even existed!
So ok, I WANT VIDEO!!!! I cant find it anywhere on the cyberworld, so I am enlisting ye fellow crusaders of the interwebs!
