IS vs Non IS

Curious in getting some of your opinions. I looking to getting the 70-200 F2.8 (version 1) but i am not sure if getting it with IS is worth paying the extra 500 bucks.

I was curious if anyone here had one and could comment on this. Ill be using the lens for motorsports, and weddings/portraits.

The non IS are all over Craigslist for 900 bucks, while on the IS version I mostly find them on eBay for like 1400 bucks. I would love to have the lens for CFRC this Sunday.

IS!!!!! It's worth every penny. Especially in low light situations. I HIGHLY recommend it.

IS all the way. I love shooting at 200mm and when the shutter speeds start dropping, I hate cranking the iso up, it will come in handy.

sketchy? Its like the biggest photo forum in the world. And yes I have bought from there, lots of decent deals and if you keep an eye out constantly you will come across awesome deals but you better be quick, that forum moves fast. Ads can be 3 pages back in less than a few hours.

Years ago I was trying to buy my current sigma 70-200, I found someone on their selling one but I told him I needed it asap I didnt hear back from him so I got worried and found a local guy selling it. Well twos days before I left for FD atlanta a boxed showed up with the lens from the guy on FM.com He sent it to me without payment cause he knew I was in a rush. I had already bought the other one, I PMed the guy told him what happened, I mailed the lens back with cash inside to cover his cost plus extra for the hassle.

Its not craigslist, they are $10k+ lenses sold on there

That's pretty freaking awesome on both ends.

What camera you use?

For future reference. If you are looking at a certain lens, or want to compare two. Rent them first. The 60-90 dollars to rent it for a weekend is worth not wasting 5-600 on a lens you don't like!

And you will not be disappointed in the IS version. The IS is honestly amazing. I shoot handheld at 200mm and its hard to tell.

Also, See everybody this weekend at cfrc?
