j30 diff question

so i always thought it was a simple switch for the s14 if its a 6 bolt, other than the driveshaft which is optional if you dont mind replacing the tranny rear main seal often

but sombody on nico brought to my attention after i posted a picture:

that i would need new bolts and bushings to mount this...

then i also read somewhere else that its only for the s13 that you need the bushings because the s14 bolts are long enough

so... what about the bushings? why cant i use the oem bushings? and where can i find new ones for cheap

s14 bushings and bolts will work with that diff. and so will the back housing.

since u own a s14 it will just bolt in!!!

u only need the bushing/washers and longer bolts if ur doing this into a s13(which ur not)

so basically the person on nico who told me id need all that stuff is mentally challenged (like me), and i could put the diff on my car without needing any extra parts?

u need to get shit done, or hire someone to either do it for u or hold your hand till u learn sometin

lol
+1 i dont know how you are atempting to do all this things if you could barely take the c clip out of the trany. lol
but w.e we all start somewhere. just be carefull when puting it in,. i would recomend doing it on a lift with help of a tranny lift or something and if your doing it on the floor use a jack to lift it and good luck.
those things are heave and quite dificult for weak people. if you can bench press it up with one hand and tigh it with the other then ur ok lol:bigthumbu

ps. since j30 diffs suck a lil i would recomend changing the fluid in there to something high performance. like royal purple or sum.
aside from what anyone might say. royal purple made my superhicas vlsd feel like a 1.5 way when i changed it , like day to night feeling it was awesome.

Fancy oil doesn't change a VLSD into anything other than a VLSD.

Of course, I spin 18's with shit power, so who knows what'll happen if you actually have 200HP or more...

If you have the bushings do it, but you can improvise if you dont. *In case someone looks at this thread later.*

Ace Hardware or most hardware shops do have spacers you could use in the place of, but you still need longer bolts for the subframe. *J30 bolts or same length bolts with the same thread pitch.
I personally dont like the feeling of a vlsd. I had a 4.36 CA diff. Daily driving was awesome but idk...it wasnt the best in events.

But good luck.
