j30 diff swap

ok im planing on doing this but i need feedback..first would a 5bolt j30 rearend work on a s13 and could i jus use the whole rearend. also if i can jus swap out the s13 240 diff and place the j30 diff in. would i need to change up the 240 driveshaft.also is there other alternatives besides this one

if you want to slide,weld it
 
just replace the diff back cover(put your stock in the j30)....and dont forget to use your stock dust rings in the out side of the axels (where they meet the spindle).;)
 
also the j30 is about 1/4 of an inch longer or something like that so keep that in mind for the driveshaft
 
^ok can somebody back his claims about the 1/4 shit cuz i just want to know if j30 diff with axles will bolt on with no problem
 
w/e but i wanna hear from ppl that have done a j30 install ... cuz im starting to think that the 1/4 inch thing is true and wanna hear if somebody had to do major modification like new driveshaft for example
 
no need to bash me im just doing some research. so i guess the j30 is out of the question then huh..
BTW welded diffs are bad for DDs atleast thats wat ive heard

dude its a bolt on affair the driveshaft fange is a 1/4 in longer but it will bolt up just fine. The drive shaft slides in the tranny a lil more and your set.
