OK, here is one thread for all of us up here in New Jersey instead of two.
Things went ok today I guess, well for me at least, my ride isn't crashed and motor isn't blown... yet.... lol
First turn is a 45mph 110degree left hander with banking as steep as OSW, concrete wall up top and then a 300ft straight with K-rail down the right side.... it's pretty sick actually, I really wish I had some OSW experience to deal with the banking.
Estie says: I got the wall on my first run of the day. Was taking it easy, and kicked it out on the banking but did some dumb shit and somehow straightened. Hit wall with right front and busted the new coilover.
The TC ripped apart, control arm folded, and the right front strut tower is moved in bout 1inch. easy fix
Cool Jersey cat named Wes loaned Estie some stock 240sx parts so he can run qualifying laps for points tomorrow.
Ryan is running Chelseas welded diff, doing pretty good, the miata doesnt like uphill drifting, but he laced a few runs that I saw.
Raffi hit wall with RF in suprise friday practice session, busted a contorl arm or something, fixed it. Did fine in practice today, then tandem practice he scrubbed the nose during a spin by he wall, and later hit a lil hrder, bending core support or something. I didnt get a chance to look at the car...
My car was running fine for half of the day, but the front was washing out a bit and my suspension didnt like the banking at all.....
Then I dropped the right side tires off and my super homo-mount wastegate slammed the ground under the car. Not sure what exactly went wrong, but the wastegate decided that 16psi would be wayyyy more rad than the 10psi Iam tuned for...
Maybe it likes the cool PING PING KNOCK CRACKLE POP POP POP noises my motor make when it leans out. I tried everything to fix it, but I cant. I think the wastegate housing is bent and the valve cant open properly. I removed the seat seal so it would leak exhaust like crazy, and it's still making 16psi, just more laggy......
Raised the fuel pressure to try and richen it up and it helped a little, but still detonating like crazy at 16psi. Did a few ok runs in the rain and parked it for tghe night.
Quali is in the morning and I guess I can look forward to blowing my headgasket and all kinds of other coolness. If it's wet, the car wont build as much boost and I should qualify ok.....
